What would it take for S8/S8+ owners to move to the Note 8?

Personally I am not sure if I would move from my S8+ to the Note 8 despite my loyalty to every Note that has been out. However, I was thinking what it would take and I think what might tip me over is if there is a 128GB version of the Note 8 available. I'm not all that interested in a dual camera setup and I think forgoing the stylus for this go around is something I can do given that the S8+ has really done everything I need. However, I am an app hoarder and I eat through storage like crazy. I still have a good amount - 24GB free on my S8+ for now, but I think I could really benefit from a 128GB version of the phone.

Some will say that having more storage memory would be a bad thing since that'll just mean I'll install more useless apps, but that's ok. I'm an app hoarder and I require lots of storage. :) I am not ashamed. Hahaha!

If you're leasing, like me, it will just take a low down payment to switch frome the S8. If you haven an S8+, you have a more difficult decision.

I can't think of anything. I hope the rumored leaks are right so I won't want it. More memory and RAM does nothing for me, dual camera I could care less about, bigger screen, don't need that either. Unless you want the S pen there is no need to leave the S8 plus, if you wanted the S pen, you should never have gotten the S8 plus in the first place. That's my opinion

The only thing that could get me to go to the Note 8 would be a bigger battery than the S8 plus, and that's it happening. I'll let them release this dual camera and work out the kinks then perfect it for the S9.

Did you forget who mostly posts here at AC? A bunch of phone jumpers. Regular folks perhaps, but most people here wanted both phones.

Note7 fiasco. Made people get the s7, then the s8 and finally Note8. Unlimited amounts of money it seems.

I got the S8 Plus so I'm not in a hurry to go pre order since I like it and have the big screen. Since it will be expensive I will wait a few months and see if there are any sales on it like they have done on samsung.com and the unlocked version at Best Buy. If the deal is good then I might grab one. If it really is a grand, even on sale it would still be a lot. I've bought a lot of phones the last 16 months and don't want to blow even more money.

I am going to J.o.d. to it. Not even a thought---that is, of course, after I get my hands on one at Best Buy so I can see in person the comparison size wise. Also when I get it may be affected by the down payment amount lol

Nope. The loss of the Note 7 left people with options for phones they didn't want (the V20, back to S7/Edge, the extremely ugly Pixel). The S8/+ gave people a chance to get away from those phones while they continued to wait on the Note 8.

Agreed. I didn't want the S-pen enough to go back a year to the Note5. That's what I did as well. S7E until the S8 came out and now (hopefully) the Note8.

This past June I used my Jump and traded my S7E in for the IPhone 7plus. I still want to get the Note 8 if it wasn't for the price tag. But the time I'm eligible for another Jump wont be until Dec or Jan. By then it's close to S9 Maybe by then they will have discounted the phone by then. I can't see myself paying
upwards to a $1000 for a phone. Even the iPhone 8 will be over a grand. What has these companies thinking charging a $1000 for a base phone?

While my S8 Plus is a fantastic phone. Best that Samsung has ever built. But the simple fact here is that S8 Plus is not a Note. GIVE ME MY NOTE BACK. No questions asked please.

That being said, I am a Sucker for blue color, so might have to wait until that comes out.

Not much, tbh. I've always known I was going to ditch my S8 for the Note 8 once the Note 8 came out. But now I'm not sure I want the Note 8 anymore now that it appears the FPS will still be in the same terrible location, couple that with the 3300 mAh battery, it's a little underwhelming.

It would take:

Less curved edges

Slightly wider ratio (less curved edges would take care of this)

Stereo speakers

128gb storage

None of this happened, so happily staying with my 8+. First Note I've said No to, BTW. Well, the Note 5 neither, but that was due to no microsd slot.

Yeah, if you really wanted a stylus you should have gone without a premium phone for months and months.
