What would you like to see from the EVO2

I just love all the fanboy action on this thread. Obviously there's a big split for some folks because Android represents open sharing and Apple represents locked down/certified coding/apps etc, but to say the Iphone 4G etc is crap, is ahem, crap. Recognize that it is a solid device, it has been on a carrier with limitations, and will have millions of people considering jumping ship.

That doesn't mean the EVO, Epic, Droid X, and all the new generation devices coming out aren't great devices too! But to say this definitely will happen or definitely won't happen is just ludacris (and not the cadilac grillz kind).

Can we get some logic on this thread and toss out the idea that there is any clear winner in this picture besides.....US! Has there ever been a better time to be someone in the market for a smartphone??? Companies are salivating at the thought of getting their hands on your money, and are ready and willing to throw every spec in the book at you to get their device in your pocket.

I am due for an upgrade in June and am stoked to see what will transpire in the next 4 months!

Well said smh at the evo fanboys

It doesn't really matter how good the Evo 2 will be. With their last update, Sprint took one of the hottest phones of the year (the Evo), and turned it into crap. No doubt they'll do it again.

To some degree I agree, however in the NY live press release COO Tim Cook had said that there is NO exclusivity with Verizon. Apple is free to go with another carrier. Sprint makes sense because they (Apple) are producing CDMA phones now.

I am partial to having a new Dual Core super phone. Most likely it will be LG and not HTC. But either way a Evo 2 or whatever they want to call it would be awesome.

Hmm you sound like you don't own the phone. Troll maybe? lol

Owner since a week after it was released. Maybe you've missed out on the issues people are having with 3.7, and the load of bloatware Sprint decided to hobble our phones with? I'm not happy about it, so I was expressing my opinion. Your agreement is not required ;)

You should root if you don't like the bloat

Life is about EVOlution

Root and remove. Easy as that.

I need Dual Core, Super Amoled, better camera clarity, better sound, better video, usable 4g, better battery life, etc. There are alot of holes the Evo needs to fill, and thats what she said...

Yeah, I know. It seems that with the latest update, Sprint's road map for updates has diverged from anything I had in mind for my phone. That being the case, it seems the rooting path is the only way to go. I've been reading up on it in preparation for the inevitable, but it's a bit confusing because all the info seems a bit scattered and there's so much of it (root like this... no, like this... but only if your Evo has this hardware, but not that software...) I'm sure it'll all come together though. I'm going to give Sprint another couple of weeks to see which way they decide to go with the bloatware, but like I said, I think I'm just postponing the inevitable.

Dual Core with a better (servicable at least) GPU - Tegra would be nice, but Qualcomm showed off a Dual Core at CES and that fits in with what HTC's typical processors - Qualcomm unveils dual-core Snapdragon reference handset at CES 2011 -- Engadget

Better Display - SAMOLED (plus or otherwise) would be nice with a Droid Bionic or better level of resolution.

More device storage - Until app2sd is supported for all apps, there needs to be a sizable chunk of memory on the device itself. I am constantly having to delete some apps that have not been updated to support.

Gingerbread - 2.3 or 2.4 will be likely, but would also be almost mandatory for any phone that has not already been announced.

4G - Almost a given at this point.

Better battery life - This is contrary to a big screen with a dual core processor, but having a battery that would get me through the day would be nice. Gingerbread will help with this, but any further optimization that HTC could do would be nice.

I wonder if the announcement from Sprint in February is about Sprint possibly buying T-Mo or gasp! MetroPCS. Metro is going to have their first 4G LTE Android phone shortly if they don't already. Although I think Metro piggybacks from Verizon's network.

This way Sprint can deal with Clearwire > WiMax and have their cake and eat it with a 4G LTE network. They can offer both networks. The only other option is if Sprint buys someone or they get purchased.

For what I have been reading that network speed tests show that Sprint's WiMax is indeed slower than Verizon's LTE, T-Mo's HSPA+ 4G and AT'Ts 3G. I have Sprint since December and love it. Curious that Sprint really didn't have any hoo rah! at CES. I can only hope they can work it out quickly as people will be jumping ship when the other carriers get their blazing fast dual core superphones and really fast LTE network while were stuck with WiMax and old HTC phones.

Better battery life. Hate not making it through a full day. I would like to use my phone for music also to replace my ipod but with the battery issue I just can't.

I hate all of the bloatware that I can't install or turn off. Nova is a pain. Force stop it and it appears later.
