Whats behind the excessive battery drain on the s6 edge? Is it just the nature of the device or something to do with 5.0.2? I have uninstall Nova launcher , swiftkey, and nothing seems to effect it. I took it off the charger at around 8am this morning and it is now 3pm and the phone has been in my pocket more than anything else and its down to 80% The greatest user is HD widgets at 4% and the rest are lest than that. Android system is listed at 4%, typemail at 3%, cell standby at 3%, Android OS at 2% and gpsd at 1%. Anybody got any idea

I think your expectations are unrealistic . 20% over that amount of time is not bad. I would remove hd widgets if you basically did not use your phone and it is the #1 consumer.

From that picture alone, your HD Widgets App and GPS.

Most people think that they need GPS on all the time for things like Weather updates, just try changing to Power Saving Mode (Wifi and Cell Data only) and just change it to High Accuracy just when you need the specific location like when using Google maps. PLUS, check and I'd advise you to turn off Location History, since around the time the S6 was released, Google removed the option to turn off Location reporting, one of the biggest battery drainer in Android, now having Location History On means you have both History and reporting all pinging your device ALL the time.

If you are like a lot of people I know, just have Location on so the Weather widget updates, then you will save tons of battery by just changing the Weather location to a fixed one and not Auto location, remember you can add one or multiple cities in most of this apps and it works just the same, only difference is that it doesn't have to be using your Location services just for that.

Just over 3% and hour isn't bad at all, personally I turn location off as I don't need it. If it needs to be on a simple swipe switches it back on.

Thanks for the advice. You are correct I only use location for weather most of the time. I went ahead and turned the gps and added the 3 cities that I frequent. As far as location history goes I already had that turned off in the google settings because there was a guy I heard one morning on the Today Show talking about it and both the wife and I went ahead and turned it off. We'll see what happens now.
