What's eating my phone storage?

[Android Central Question]

I have a galaxy j3 emerge and something I've noticed maybe over half a year ago is for some reason something's keep eating my storage space. I've gotten rid of my apps many pictures and audio and every time I open space I notice in a couple's days time the storage space soon goes to zero.

Can not updating eat storage space? At this point there's about 2 gb of photos I can get rid of it it still persists I don't know what I can do. What can be the cause?

Excuse me if I step in. I'm not familiar with Samsungs in general, nor with that particular device; but surely that is not the stock Storage app? Is it an app you've installed yourself, or was it preinstalled?

@belodion... Yes, that's the stock, preinstalled Samsung storage app (accessed from Settings->Device Maintenance->Storage).

Hmm, that menu isn't very helpful. See if DiskUsage gives you more information.
