What's missing in Pie/One UI update?

I still don't get a notification badge for voice mail. That dissappeared with the Oreo update and I have never been able to get it to work. I literally have no idea I received a voice message if I don't hear it come it, unless I open that app and check for a voice message. It's a real pita.
That's strange because I get a notification when someone leaves me a voicemail and I have it set up so that the notification will keep reminding me every 2 to 3 minutes until I look at it.

I have this set up for text messages, calendar alarms and voicemail. And I'm using Pie on the AT&T network and it works the same for me as it did on Oreo.

I know it's weird, all my other badges show up. Messages remind me 3 times, etc.. I just can't get the voicemail badges to work. As I said it started with Oreo which goofed a lot of my notification stuff up. I managed to sort it all out except that one. Beats, me what's wrong but it have been hoping an update some day might revive it. No luck yet. I use the standard Verizon voicemail app.

The update blows. No more notification info when you tap/turn screen on. You have to manuqlly tap a ****ty ios-esque button. **** that. Lock screen is for a quick look, at a minimum give me who sent what? Then the recenta page. I can't explain the updated recents as anything other than an infantile change to apple crap to entice ios migrants. Its about a ten year downgrade as far as the functionality, and the fact there is no option to keep the perfectly functional oreo version is a head scratcher. I know what was being viewed in what app, i just need to click it, not click search, not flip through what i may have forgotten about, not a computer generated list of "likely" apps. Its ****, plain and simple. And its mind numbing that Samsung AND Google didnt have the foresight to see this being an issue. Im ******* livid. Cough up a grand for a phone, and by the time its paid for we will push an update so horrendous much of the functionality of the device will be nuked.

Then snaller nitpicks, like giving almost no info in the status drop down, over sized icons in the drop down, screen brightness slider is an extra swipe away. On and on the list goes. More button utility, less simple navigation. Complete fail.

Luckily, my warrantee replacement came broken. Im praying my 2nd replacement isnt updated yet.

I think the above post is just spam. My android pie is wonderful and I really find it nicer than oreo.

I agree, essentially what everyone is saying is that they will never buy a new phone in the future since it will be different.

I have to agree 100%. So far I have been very happy. One of my biggest shocks has been much improved battery life over what I was having in Oreo. Another plus is that I haven't even had to do a FDR on my phone after the update like I usually do. It's been working great as is.
