What's missing?

For the price I'd like it to be waterproof and possibly have an IR blaster (still using it on my G4 quite a bit). Also the headphone jack needs to be on the bottom like normal phones.

Waterproof
SD card slot
Dual sim
Dual rear and front camera
hardware optical image stabilization
Stereo speakers
IR blaster
Notification led
AMOLED display
Removable battery
Google mods such as battery pack
$499 with 4 years OS and security updates.

It does have Amoled display and rgb notification led.

1. International market, because I need one and I living in Singapore.
2. Price. Yes it's same price with iPhone 7, but 7% VAT haven't include yet.

I love wireless charging but it seems to have gone out of fashion.

Disappointed with the price considering you can get similar specs in the OnePlus 3 for half the price.

All this talk about moving the fingerprint reader to the front...

I have a 6P and my wife a 5X; I think the position of the fingerprint reader on both is absolutely perfect. When I pick up the phone my index finger just naturally goes to the reader and, by the time the phone is in position for me to view the screen, it has already read my finger and turned on.

But, I just know I am going to miss the dual, front-facing, speakers.

Wireless Charging
IP67 / IP68
SD Card or a 64GB version (sweet spot for me)
Stereo Front facing speakers (why big Bezels then?)

I would have pre-ordered the XL if it had all those features, but at $899 for the standard 32GB Pixel and $1049 for the 32GB Pixel XL here in Canada, I would rather get the Note 7 that has:
- 64GB
- Water Resistance IP68
- Wireless charging
- Iris Scanner
- S pen
- SD Card Slot
- Bigger Screen but same overall size, if not smaller

All of that for the same price as the Pixel XL ($1049) that only gives me a slight improvement in camera, Google assistant and fast updates...

To be honest, I think Pixel phones are just overpriced Nexus phones...

Anyway that' just MY opinion.

Micro SD and waterproofing feels missing at this price point.

It seems a pretty generic phone (cough... cough... Nexus) with an enhanced software experience. I'll be sticking with my 6P for another year (first time ever for that) while closely watching how all this pans out

Honestly, if they were going to support the phone for 4 years instead of 2, I would have already prepurchased.

Now I'm considering a HTC10 or possibly Axon 7; which arguably have worse software support.

If you want to compete with the iPhone, support it like the iPhone.

True waterproofing, memory card slot, user replaceable battery, and more speakers would be at the top of my list. A high-end DAC would be gravy.

I'm with several others on wanting the dual front facing speakers. To be honest, though, I'd be happy with one front facing speaker on the top. There isn't much of a stereo effect from something so small, but it is better than having to cup your hand around the bottom of the phone to direct the sound.

Completely agree. I don't mind even if it's just one, good, front-facing speaker. But, instead, I'd be going from really good DUAL front-facing speakers (6P) to ZERO. :-/
