What's new in Android 4.4.1

I guess no one noticed how loud the speakers are now. I had to turn off my Keyboard sounds, because it was a little too loud and distracting. Much more cleaner and louder. Much better in my honest opinion.

This morning I was wondering if I accidentally turned the sound on for touch, I didn't recall it being that loud...that makes sense though, that its because speakers are louder now :-)

Those with 4.4.1, since I've not heard any mention of it, I guess they've not fixed the text not wrapping issue in 4.4.1?

Never heard of that one...

Thanks for the quick replies. Sorry, my bad. Nevermind. Looks like it's an app (Yahoo Mail) issue, not Android 4.4 issue at all. For me, with Yahoo Mail+4.4, instead of the email text wrapping to fit the size of the screen, the text spills off the side of the screen and I have to scroll horizontally. On Yahoo Mail+4.2.2 displaying the same email, text wraps with the screen size.

Glad it got fixed.

I have the very same issue with my Moto X on 4.4. The "Android OS" battery drain is caused by NlpWakeLock (for me, anyway) not allowing the phone to enter deep sleep as frequently as it should. The only thing that "fixes" it is to disable Google Now as well as location services in general. Which, for me, is unacceptable as I use these services frequently. I sincerely hope Google acknowledges and fixes this bug soon. The battery drain issue notwithstanding, KitKat is great.

Just for those that assume it's caused by an errant app, I assure you it's not. After multiple factory resets and even a complete reflash back to stock with no third party apps installed (and bloat disabled) the issue still persists. I hope 4.4.1 fixes it

Check your HD video playback 720p or 1080p. I bet you will notice it's broken (choppy) in 4.4

Not sure it's new to 4.4.1 (rather new to 4.4.), but face unlocking seems to be popping up during daydreams ... also I've seen face unlocking come up after browsing lock screen widgets, where in 4.3 and prior, if you slid around on lock screens, the unlock defaulted to the backup method (PIN, pattern, et al).

Anyone noticed the default "me" contact has changed from grey to blue?

Looks out of place compared to the grey on black picture

I'm on 4.4.2 using Yahoo Mail and still having the test wrapping issue. Pretty annoying.

Unfortunately, the Yahoo Mail App text wrapping issue has not been fixed yet. I'm using the default Android Email App for my Yahoo mail now.
I'd actually prefer to funnel both my Yahoo and Gmail accounts through the stock Email App but it kept on saying it couldn't log in to my Yahoo account after working fine for a few days.

Ok, good to know I'm not the only one seeing this. I'm seeing the occasional "can't sign in" to Yahoo with the stock Emai App also. Annoying for sure, but it seems to be ok most of the time so that I'm willing to put up with it rather than have to try to pan on my little screen to read emails. It's not clear whether this login problem is with Yahoo or the app. Hopefully they'll fix one or both of these issues soon.

This has been an issue since gingerbread, so I doubt a fix will be happening. Only does it with Yahoo email accounts, so I think it's a yahoo issue.

I've had a year of Yahoo imap mail in the stock client without connection issues, now I get them daily.
