I just got a White EVO 4g. It is hardware version 0004, it had the 3.70 software on, and Hboot 2.02. I still had it rooted in the first twenty minutes of purchasing it

I wasn't too active on the precentral forums, but I was on xda-developers about two years ago when I was stuck with windows mobile....Any pointers would be appreciated!

) and I understand what nandroid backups are and what they are useful for (restoring a rom to an as-is state from the moment of the backup), but I'm confused on titanium backup. I know that it backs up apps and the data for apps. However, my question is can I restore the Titanium backup across roms? For example, I have the rooted stock rom and I wanted to go to a custom rom. I looked into it and there doesn't seem to be a consensus; many say "yeah it's fine", others say to "never do it". Due to the different responses, I think it has to do with the rom you flash and whether or not the cook says it's ok. Am I right or wrong?
