What's Your Default Messaging App? Lots of lag with Google's

Okay .. One thing I already do not like about Textra. It wakes the screen up when getting a message whereas Google Messenger stays off.

Can't you turn that off? Haven't used it in awhile, but you used to be able to turn that off.

Yes, you can turn it off via Textra. I started using textra after message+ (verizon) on my phone started to turn the screen on when I received a text.

Setting/customize notifications/Wake up Screen.

I gave Textra another try and it's not bad. But there is one thing that drives me crazy about it. When you scroll down to the last message within a conversation it automatically pops up your keyboard. I hate that. If I want to type something all I have to do is tap in the message box to get to my keyboard. Does anyone know if there's a way to turn off or disable this "feature?" It's driving me nuts.

I don't get those issues with Google's Messenger. Try reinstalling I guess.

As it happens, I don't think Google "do scrolling" well. Chrome is janky, so is Google+ etc, but nothing that locks up as you described.

Well, I looked and looked and there seems to be no way to turn off that annoying Textra feature that pops up the keyboard whenever you scroll to the bottom of the screen. That's a deal breaker for me so I uninstalled it again.

Okay it doesn't even have to be the weekend. I'm sold on Textra again. It's so smooth and fast on this S7 Edge. I am loving it.

Using the stock one.. didn't like textra.. the only thing I don't like about the stock one is the group messages come separate... don't know why.

Textra all day but I do like Google messenger alot also. Just don't like the quick reply on either honestly would rather a quick reply like the iphones

I use Chomp which has dark theme, lots of options including backup settings and a great popup reply box that you can customize its buttons.
