Whats your CPU running with DK28 2.2, this is mostly for those who flashed DK28 from a Stock 2.1 with no custom ROMS.

What did you get for your CPU on Quadrant?

after flashing DK28 my Quadrant is 1005, I am curious why its lower than Motor droid x. What should the avergae score be for one running a flashed DK28 with no custom ROMS?

Please tell the noob : how do you get a quadrant score? Do you have to be rooted?

an app in market called quadrant. Its not the end all be all b/c it can be tricked into believing the phone has really high scores but its typically pretty accurate assumption on the power of the phone

Although your asking specifically about scores with no custom ROMs installed, I've gotten between 1400 and 2200, but usually average around 1700 with Bonsai4All installed, EX4 files system, and DK28.

As others have stated Quadrant can vary from time to time.. I've seen a 200-300 point sway from test to test.

I think the best test still is, how is your phone running? Most people have noticed as they upgrade from Eclair to Froyo, better performance. Then as you move up from Stock Froyo to custom ROMs and eventually EXT4 file system and/or Edify Script things get better and better. On the newest ROMs supporting EXT4 file system with Edify scripting almost any signs of lag are gone. Transitions to and from apps are almost instantaneous with almost no visible lag. Web surfing is improved also.

Regardless what the scores say it still comes down to how well the phone visually is running in my opinion.

I ran it again and my score was 1240? Odd.

I agree with Paul it comes down to your personal user experience.

I personally feel my phone is snappy and performs very well since installing Froyo(DK28)

You said stock, but just for comparison, 1634 with Midnight Rom 2.8, EXT4, and a slightly modified version of Mysterious Beast Theme. My score typically varies between 1600 and 1650.

I fully understand those who are hesitant to root, either due to technology fears or warranty concerns. What I find a little confusing is upgrading to DK28, but still sticking with the stock rom. Most of the popular ROMs (ie, Midnight, Bonsai, Epic Experience, Quantum, etc.) are quite easy to flash, especially if you have already figured out how to upgrade to Froyo and have gotten over the rooting hump. Even more, if you have trouble, and are willing to ask, there are always people out there who will try to help.

Different strokes for different folks. I went DK28 for the Flash, the apps to SD, and the tether (reason for root). I like touchwiz, and the sprint apps (exclude Nascar). Most ROM's that I have seen exclude these last two. I can always add these later, but then I have to ROM, and then add all these apps. I am not an expert on this but I can follow directions pretty well. I am considering a ROM for the EXT4 lag fix, but I am debating if it will make a real (my) world difference. I mainly use the Email, Text, GPS (sprint) and Tether my 4G for browsing on my iPad. I use my phone for business so I got what I wanted/needed, and now priority one is stability. I will second that the help on this forum is excellent.
