Whatsapp push notifications recently stopped working.

Hi all , I use a Google Pixel 3 and recently I'm not getting notifications on my phone when someone sends me a whatsapp. Once I open the app suddenly a flurry of messages come through.

I'm not on any kind of silent mode, not using battery saver mode, I've allowed Whatsapp full permissions and I'm not connecting to weak wifi connections (instead using data that is available constantly).

Has anyone else been experiencing something like this recently? It just suddenly came out of nowhere. I'm using the latest versions of the apps too...

Can try long pressing the app and tap info , then scroll to storage clear cache and force stop
