Whatsapp truncated voice messages on Android Phone

[AC Question]

I have a problem with voice messages sent to others. For example I record 1 min message and my friend receives a message that duration is shown as 1min, but playback stops at lets say 45sec and progress bar is also at that point at the end. It doesn't matter how long messages are, most (if not all, as not always got feedback about it) are truncated regardless who is recipient. Sometimes it is few sec (shorter message) and sometimes it i several minutes.
I use Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 which is on Android 5.1.1 and Whatsapp 2.12.367 if that helps. Please advise...

I am having exact same problem on Nexus 6p (Android 6.0.1) with Whatsapp v2.12.367
Did you manage to find any solution? It happens randomly and is so frustrating.
