When addressing an SMS, it pulls up multiple contacts for the same person/people

I'm new to Android, coming from BB. I have noticed that many times, when creating a text and choosing a contact, it will pull up multiple lines for the same person/people. Since numbers were brought over from my BB, I think it split out all the multiple numbers (mobile, home, work). I have no clue which one to choose. I also think it is getting contact data from FB and maybe G+ (though, I never use G+).

I don't seem to have the option of deleting any of the "extra" contacts.

For my phone app, I have it to pull just numbers from my phone, and there are no multiple entries. Just clean.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

You just have to get used to this little quirk for messaging. Once you start texting people it will give you a number marked "history" and that is the one you will chose. It will also be an the top of the list.
