Android Central Question

I have a google pixel 2 and the google photos app version is 6.0.0.464635153

I registered on here now. i am the one that asked the question about my google pixel 2, when i open photos it crashes. I have tried clearing the cache and the storage data,(not sure if it is deleting storage data). I have tried rebooting, no help. Is it ok to roll back the software update? My wife's pixel 2 is working fine and her version is just little older than mine, not sure the exact version just know its 5.9...... i found a website that has older software, would it be safe to try that?

Welcome to Android Central! Remember that Google Photos is a gallery app, so it's simply displaying photos that you took that are saved to the /DCIM/Camera directory, as well as syncing with Google Photos in the cloud. Clearing the Google Photos app data will not delete your photos, because those are separate files saved in a directory. It will clear the database, but once you open Google Photos again and it signs you back into your Google account, that database will be rebuilt quickly and it will display the photos again.

Now photos is making me update or it wont let me access my pictures. So i went ahead and updated and my photos are still working. Maybe the original update was corrupted or didnt download fully. Either way its working.
