when to transfer eSim?

Upgrading from an unlocked S22U, with eSim only, to an unlocked S23U, I have to contact my carrier to transfer the eSim. Does anyone know whether I should do that before otherwise setting up the new phone? Or should I run through the setup process first and then transfer the eSim?

I would personally set up your new phone, get it ready without the eSIM and then transfer the eSIM over to the new phone once you’re set up

Yeah, that sounds safest. I just wasn't sure if the setup process will proceed if there's no sim.

The set-up process can be done with it or without sim .
