Now that the S3 has released JB finally when do you think we will see it?

I'm gonna say 2-3 months if we are lucky!

What do you all think?

Not that its a HUGE update but I'm still excited to see it!

I believe late October is a good guess. It has already been leaked for a month or two so it should be soon.

Probably more realistic to shoot for Thanksgiving.

When pigs fly! Or when they announce key pie is coming

Apple Hater for Life!

I'm thinking late October. Samsung has consolidated hardware this go round so hosted should roll out with less time in between. In theory, of course.

As usually samsung is very slow with latest version of updates and that's why people prefer apple products simple when apple announced something that day will be update for all their products but samsung unlike take forever to release updates and worst case flagship product??? That's why no matter what apple phone will be ahead of galaxy lines one lighting year. I still love android phones and I will stick with it but bothering me when they doing things so slow, stay behind your product samy :)

Wow, could you try repeating that in English so we could understand it?

From my understanding, the JB release is controlled at the provider level (i.e. AT&T) and the actual release date is out of Samsung's hands once they turn over the software update to the providers. Does that sound correct? I'm hoping we see JB released in the next few weeks.

As far as I see Samsung has done a great job with this update! We all know the carriers will slow it down some. I still think its within the carriers best interest to get it out quickly! Does this mean it will happen? No sadly. The time frame of now to Oct is fine by mean and what I would consider great! I can live with that.

As far as comparing it to Apple...Really? Its not that fair to compare them IMO. Apple is in control of its product 100%. This is why Verizon, Sprint and att updates all go out at the same time. Is this something Samsung could do? Sure! But hell look at the Nexus on Verizon...I don't think its really a "Nexus" per say. Verizon ruined that imo. Either way for the world of Android...Sammy is doing right by us currently.

Also this is NOT meant to be a flame of whats better. Keeping on topic here I can say that I am a 100% happy Samsung customer!

How is this slow? It was just released with the latest OS (ICS) in the states. I think it is a pretty quick turnaround. I agree with @jdot104 on the time frame. I'd say that AT&T and T-Mobile will get it first, since they're GSM.

While I don't doubt it, why is Apple able to pretty much get away with whatever they want? It seems like Apple has been able to stiff arm the carriers while Google, not so much.

This is from Samsung: "If its a carrier phone, your carrier need to test it first, then approve, then push it OTA to all users which mat take several days or maybe weeks."

I've watched Samsung do this many times... Samsung is well known for dropping official source on the devices sometimes a day or two before they drop the update. Samsung in the past has dropped official source on devices a day before they officially release in the store to the public...

So this is indeed a good sign... As sneaky as Sammy is you could wake up tomorrow or something to the update rolling out.

Well all I can say is that since the JB update is a collaboration between Sammy and AT&T, I sure hope it's tested thoroughly before being released.. I can't wait to see what Project Butter will be on our phones as well as Google Now and the new notification bar changes :)

That is the part that worries me... Sammy & AT &T will get their grubby hands on it and something will break :p

I hope not, they have gotten way better at this sort of things from previous OS upgrades.
