Android Central Question

I started using the Nine email app and I really like it but I can't figure out haow to list the contacts. The icon for contacts displays an empty list.
How do I connect it with the system contacts?
Thanks

Welcome to Android Central! Also, go to Settings>Apps, select the Nine app, then Permissions, and make sure it has permission to access your contacts.

Thanks @mustang7757 and @B. Diddy
Permissions for Contacts are enabled in both the app and the email accounts that I have registered with the App.
Here is a more detail description of the issue:

I started using 'Nine email and Calendar app' on my Galaxy A70 (Android 11) and I love it.
I have set my 4 email accounts, 2 are gmail and 2 just IMAP. None are ActiveSync, just regular IMAP based.
The big let down is that I can't list my contacts. Somehow It finds my contacts whenever I start to enter an address to compose or reply a message, however the contacts tab at the bottom of the screen is always empty and 'Contacts' doesn't appear either under settings.
It shows my google calendar fine, but why not the contacts? Is this app only for ActiveSync/Exchange emails?

Except for that shortcoming, what I like best of Nine is that it shows you the folder under each message whether is 'inbox' 'sent' or any other subfolder where the message has gone when redirected by filters. All other apps that I've tried, you get the notification but I have no idea where the message went so I have to go hunting for it.

Is there any way to show the address book? Is this by design so that it needs ActiveSync/Exchange?

Thanks @mustang7757 and @B. Diddy

Hi welcome to AC!
Try B. Diddy recent recommendation then we can work from there .

As I show in one of the pictures above, Nine settings is missing the Contacts sync option

In the screenshot you shared, I see something that says "Re-order accounts." Is there anything else above that? It looks like you scrolled down a bit. If you open the settings menu for the Nine app, is your email account listed there?

Yes, my 5 accts are listed i already checked them all for contacts sync although I only use one of them as the contacts source.
Its odd because any of the hundreds of email client apps will get you a link to contacts.
I have the feeling that it relies on its ActiveSync ability but it's not design for the IMAP type of account. I don't use Exchange so maybe that's the way it is.
Hard to believe that it has such limitation....

This may be a minor hassle, but try clearing the app cache and data for the Nine app, then open it again. You'll probably have to add the email accounts back again.

Still no joy after re setting all the accounts ...
I have the feeling that this is a design limitation for non-activesync accounts.
Oh well, not the end of the world because, of course, I still have my regular Contacts app but I would have hoped that such great email app would have the contacts enabled for at least google.
Thanks guys.
