Where have you seen the Defender case?

Ok so the best buy closest to me had some pretty poor cases. I finally got my phone and desperately need a ccase but I hate to buy a cheap one now and then find the otterbox soon after. I might have to just settle for the Belkin case.

You might like the cases at the AT&T store better. They have the Samsung slip case and some Body Glove cases. Commuters could show up soon.

How does the defender case work exactly? I've tried to search and watch videos about it but I wonder does the built in screen protector really work better than a standard screen protector? Also what happens when the screen protector starts to show wear? Do I need to put down another chunk of cash for a new defender case?

There a screen protector. Then a carbon fiber layer and the rubberized layer. My wife has the Defender on her i4s and I have one on my Playbook. There are absolutely no signs of wear.

Yeah, I saw the cases there when I picked up my phone, but thought Best Buy might have better variety but I was wrong. Definitely going back to AT&T tomorrow, because this phone desperately needs a case.

Definitely more protection, at least in terms of water resistance. If you have all the ports secured with the flaps, almost waterproof. Maybe not as thin as some of the topline screen protectors, but the focus is on the protection.

I think otterbox is pretty good about replacements. You will not need to replace the entire case yourself.

Has anyone heard any updates? It is still showing as coming soon on their website and Amazon is showing mid-July availability dates. I ordered mine on June 18th and am getting nervous as I am going commando for almost two weeks now.

I ordered a commuter case. I will return it when the Defender comes out! Sick of being naked! But I wont have it until early next week more than likely.

As far as updates...No! AC's store says it will ship 7/10. But who knows at this point!

The Trident case looks interesting as well but it has that bubble where the logo is.

I still haven't even received an email from Otterbox to say when they are releasing the Defender. Either way, when they do, I'll get one.

For now, my Commuter does the job...

Indeed! I called them well after a year for the first EVO and they replaced it with no questions asked. They only wanted a photo of the damage. So really its not asking for much!

Plus I don't mind the bulk as I have HUGE hands. A little extra space for the grip is good IMO. Plus I drop my phone. Not a lot but when I do...Its on a hard surface!

So all in all its a $50 well spent IMO plus it protects like no other.

I sent an email to the seller of the Defender that I ordered on June 18th. OB still has not yet released the Defender for sale. What could possibly make it so much more difficult to manufacture than the Commuter?

New and better design maybe? Who knows! I got the commuter cause I got sick of waiting.

You would think that now that the GS3 is released on AT&T that they would have one of the OB cases. Hope springs eternal. I am not giving up.

Agreed. Getting my Defender from Amazon but was hoping to see something better than what I have seen at the stores while I wait for the case to be released.

The AT&T store has the Ballistic case and holster but no OB cases.
