Where is the 4.3 Update for the Verizon Galaxy S3?

I couldn't agree with you more on Verizon and their updates. It just really frustrates me when people are complaining about how long it's taking Verizon to get the update out.

The biggest problem with VZW IMO, is the bloat. With every update them seem to add more and more. This is what apparently causes all of the delays. They have to get the bloat to work with the updated OS.

That seems to be one of the main sticking points with the Nexus phones. Google wants 'em stock.

For as anti-Apple as I am I applaud them for sticking to their guns with VZW.

The vast majority of VZW's user base could care less about what version they are running... and Android really came into its own with ics... so it's not like people are suffering with junk

Going from 3 bars LTE to 1 Bar of 1x and nothing if you put the phone in a jacket pocket because you walked into a house or building makes a phone about as close to junk as possible. It needs an update ASAP and hopefully it comes with Radio Fixes otherwise I'm going to start having them swap phones out, a lot, before I go back from whence I came.

Not every update woe is because of the Android OS. I could care less what OS a phone is running when I need to make a [stable] phone call or send an SMS/MMS message.

The reception on this phone is beyond terrible. An update is needed pronto. It's borderline unusable and if this is okay then I'd have just saved money and bought an iPod touch instead of another smartphone and used that...

I agree with signal issue. I constantly go from 4g to 3g and even to 1x. I never went to 1x on my droid 3

My fiancee just got a notice of software update on her SG3. I recommended her to defer it until I know more about it and apparently there is noting in-line about any update. Maybe it's just the so called soak test in which case Verizon can suck it, I won't be a guinea pig for them.

For the record I'm being patient, but that doesn't mean I cant make a comment here and there.
-- I tweeted Verizon Wireless and Samsung Mobile cause I board and this is what I got.

This could mean as always Hurry up and Wait or it could mean Soon. But judging by the posts about people receiving something here and there, I'm still going with hurry up and wait.

I would say that between the last 2 posts, things are looking up for something in the next few days.

Carriers can flash you back to a previous version if you ask them. I did that on ICS on my SR for a while cause a feature I needed was taken out. I walked in, asked and they did it. Took all of 7 minutes or so for them to flash me back to 2.3.6 or whatever GB revision that was...

Don't really see any point in deferring, especially with how stable other carriers' updates have been jn the US.

You don't even have to go that route. With Odin, you can put on any stock image that your carrier has released.

Odin cures all ills...especially those caused when your heavily modified phone needs to go back for a warranty claim. ;-)

There is issues self flashing off of samsung knox. Best to consult tge carrier.

It seems like my signal got worse with the 4.1.2 update. So hoping that new update improves it.

S4 is getting a small 4.3 update, would be nice if vzw gave us our 4.3

Sorry, but unacceptable. I want an update ASAP :-) And really don't care who like it or not that I or others start and or post in a thread about it. I can care less if its froyo or gingerbread. I just want a phone that works properly as a phone. Thank you.

That was outside. In the house itsnone ba or none. I can barely send a text and forget MMS. Texts fail 25pct of the time. MMS about half the time or more.

Probably nothing, but I just checked for new software update. It thought about it for a long time, then said software update temporarily unavailable.

Probably nothing...

Can you go to the settimgs/about phone/status page on both of them and see what the signal strength on them is? Phones are setup differently to represent their signal in different ways. So they both could have - 100 dbm but one could show 3 bars and the other could show 1 bar.

Whatever your problem is, an update is most likely not going to fix it. There are no widespread issues right now with the current version. There was a problem, but Verizon fixed that and reissued the update months ago.
