Which Case - Incipio Silicrylic or Seidio Active?

Need to get a case for my Rezound ASAP as my new device will be here by tomorrow (cracked the screen quite nicely by having NO CASE at all!).

Can't decide between these two and would love your over all thoughts, esp. regarding how it feels in the hand, how much bulk each case adds to the phone (hate bulk!), and overall looks of the case:

Incipio HTC Rezound SILICRYLIC Hard Shell Case with Silicone Core, HTC Rezound Cases, HTC Rezound Covers, HTC Rezound Hard Cases, HTC Rezound Silicone Cases, HTC Rezound Protective Cases

Seidio ACTIVE Case for HTC Rezound - HTC Hard Cases - HTC Accessories Depot

Thanks everyone!!!!!

I have never had good luck with any Incipio silicone core case, always sloppy and loose fitting and just gets worse quickly over time and looks bad, although it seems to still protect the device until it starts ripping.

Seidio Active series is pretty decent but seems a little inconsistent, I had one for my Inc2 and it was pretty good and fit well but almost doubled the the thickness of the phone (not a big deal if you have seen an Inc2), and a friend had one in a different color for some T-Mobile device and it was pretty sloppy fitting. Being able to get a holster is a big plus for this one in my book.

Trident Aegis series is about the same thickness as the Seidio Active series, but seems of higher quality for about the same money. I know a couple people who have them and they both swear by them and say they will never buy another case except from Trident. A lot of people have just never heard or seen this name before, but they are really good.

Personally, for slim fit and some protection, I really like the Seidio Surface series, it barely adds anything to the phone and it has a holster available. It is my current case and it has taken a few drops from 3-4 feet without a problem but I might just have been lucky, I use it weekdays w/o the holster and it slips in and out of pocket easily, and weekends with a holster when I don't have to carry my work phone.

Hope that helps some...

I looked briefly at the Surface Series and while I like that it did not add much bulk, it also did not seem to offer much in the way of protection, and that is why I shied away from it. Again, I don't want a lot of bulk but I am clumsy and tend to drop my phone more than I would like.

I will be anxious to hear if anyone else chimes in, as I have heard that the fit can sometimes be can issue with both of these cases :(

I've had more experience with the Seidio active case than I have with the Incipio case. The active case does add a slight thickness to the phone but it still protects great. I've had one on my rezound previously for a couple months and it held up great. I eventually ended up selling it to a friend of mine who also has a rezound and he loves it. I would recommend the active case.

I have used the Active case for the thunderbolt, it was a really good case. Provides great protection. Looks like it would be better protected with the active but the active might be slightly larger than the other.

I love my Incipio, it fits like a glove and has great protection. The back has a nice soft feel and is no floppy like the silicone cases. I also like the fact that the power and volume rocker buttons are covered, but the charger slot is open. They thought through those things and I appreciate that!

Is this the one you have??? Which color scheme did you get?

Would love to hear from you, if this is the exact one you have, how much bulk or weight it adds to the already hefty Rezound :)

Thanks so much for the reply!

Yes, that is the one I have. Color: Dark Purple / Dark Gray. It does not add much weight/bulkiness at all, it just feels protected and I love the soft feel of the hard part of the case.:) I like a slighly heavier phone anyways (hated the GSiii cuz it felt too light and cheap!). I was even thinking of getting another one, pink/white for fun. Any other questions, I'll respond. :)

I would recommend it, from now on only htc phones and incipio cases for me.

I really appreciate your prompt reply and am now leaning towards the Incipio that you have or this one (have you seen this, recommended in this thread)?:

Aegis Case for HTC Rezound

FYI, I did read a few reviews that the white/pink combo for the Incipio might not be a good choice, as the hard white plastic on the back got dirty easily and was hard to keep clean and even yellowed a bit, just so you know.

Would love to hear what you think about this Aegis, though, as I am now torn between the two and want to order something today (just bought a cheap silicone one from Verizon for now, as my new Rezound will be here by end of day and I don't want to have nothing on it - learned that lesson the hard way!!!).

Thanks!

That one looks pretty good too, I would love to hold it in my hand. I do see that their little logo/design does add more bulk than the Incipio along the bottom backside of the phone.

Go with the incipio, you will really like it and be happy with the color pallette/feel.

My phone actually slid off the couch yesterday and it just bounced with NO damange at all!!

thanks for the heads up on the white/pink.

Thanks for picking up on that thing with the logo.

Just sent you a PM so as not to hijack this thread with OT comment. Look forward to your reply.

I love my Incipio Silicrylic. Plus it has a screen protector

The two tone Grey. I think that combo you want would look good, my wife has it on her Otterbox for iPhone.

Yeah, the pink and white looks "fun", and I am leaning towards that though I read one review that mentioned the white does not stay white and is tough to clean.

But, I'll either give that color a shot or the purple and dark gray (a bit "less fun").

Ok, i'm sold! Going to go with the Incipio.

Who did you buy if from?

i have the Incipio and love it. with the soft and hard shells. you get the best of both worlds.

Thanks for all the great replies, everyone! I went with the Incipio case and opted for trying out the Hot Pink/White one. If the white turns really dull, dirty or gray quickly, I will be able to return it and get a different color, as the place I ordered it from has a 90 day return policy as opposed to the 30 day one that most sites offer.

Looking forward to getting it ASAP, as the one thing I absolutely HATE about the Rezound is how tough it is to hit the Power button right on the first try, since it is so recessed. Every review on the Icipio says that the silicone covering on the Power button that sticks out really takes care of that issue.

Can't wait!!!!

Thanks again,
Cat

Can you tell me, does the Seidio Active case make the Rezound easier to turn on and off? It seems the one major physical flaw with the Rezound is how recessed the power button is and it is a real pain! The Incipip case makes that problem non-existent but I would like to know if the Active case does the same.

As someone using the Seidio Active, yes it does make the power button MUCH easier to push! It feels like just a little raised nub that's almost flush, but it responds immediately, unlike having to often dig a fingernail into the naked power button. I love the Active. HTH. :-)
