Which is worth the cost, the Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S8?

I'm just looking for opinions on what is the closest in camera options to the Galaxy S4... Yes, I still have my S4 which has started to show signs that the battery life is starting to fail so I'm trying to figure out which to upgrade to next. I've tried to do some research but frankly I mostly use my phone for communication and taking videos/pictures of horses. I've liked the camera options that the S4 offers but can't seem to find if the "drama mode" exists in the newer phones. Someone I know told me to get the S9 since they're not fond of their S8 Note, but I'm on the fence and would like more opinions on the matter.

So what do you guys think?

If you like your S4, could you not simply fit a new battery?

I'm not a Samsung user but I should imagine that the camera performance of either of the models that you mention would be very high. Both are devices of the highest spec and quality.
