Which phone did you trade in to BB for the $200 credit?

Tried to get the 200 dollar gift card at Best Buy for a verizon model. Wouldn't honor it because I was paying full price for the phone. Anyone have any luck getting it?

They changed the policy. The only way to get the $200 gift card is to not buying the phone out right. You will need to be in some plan and activate the phone. They programmed this in to the system. Once the phone is activated by BestBuy, it is in their system. There is a selection and verification at the trade-in process that will verify that line activation then automatically bump the trade in to $200. I want to buy the phone out right as well. But the upgrade plan is fine as I can then pay it off immediately afterward.

I used an HTC Incredible. I was going to buy it ouright but it required a plan and I am out of contract and on the new my Verizon plan so I just bought the phone on time and will pay it off when the first payment comes due. That way I pay the phone in thirty days, stay off contract and still got the $200 gift certificate.

I traded in an old Tmobile Nokia Lumia 521 prepaid I had bought for $50 a couple of years ago to tinker with Windows Phone OS with, best buys trade in calculator had it at a trade in value of $2, they didn't even question it and gave me the $200 gift card. After that I then walked over to customer service and traded in my Note 3 and an old HTC one x I brought just in case they wouldn't take the lumia and got $180 gift card credit, they let me keep the chargers for all three as well, the hussle is real lol!

Re: Can't use $200 trade in at Best Buy without activation unlike last year

I have Sprint and sent them a never used S3 prepaid phone that I bought last year during a black Friday sale for $70ish . I bought it thinking that since it was a Sprint Pre-Paid that I could get it activated on my plan. Only after I bought it did I find out that the Prepaid phones were "different" from the phones on the regular plans so it's sat in my junk drawer since Late November.

When I was online with the sales rep I asked them specifically about if PrePaid phones were available for the $200 credit and they told me there were no special considerations of type of smartphone. Only that it had to be a functioning Smartphone. They emailed me a Prepaid return slip and I mailed it out to them a few days ago.

S2 since it's my mom's upgrade and an older phone that she had. Some guy was there trading an old Samsung I730 for his Note 5 and they took it without even powering it on. He had the box with everything in it and they figured it wasn't worth the effort in waiting for a charge.

Had some hassle trying to get the $200 at an AT&T store. Bought the phone early last week from the AT&T website and took in my old GS4 to the store yesterday. They tried telling me that the $200 credit only applied to the S6 edge+ because, and I quote, "The Note 5 is not a Galaxy phone, so it doesn't apply." This is an AT&T corporate store telling me this! Of course, they said, they'd be glad to pay me $60 for the GS4. I told them no way and brought up the website, where it plainly states that the credit applies to the Note 5 as well. They finally relented and gave me my $200.

I purchased mine outright, and traded in my LG G3. I didn't have any issues. However, based on my best buy experiences in the past, a lot of their employees are not educated on policies and procedures. Seems like this could be one of those cases.

Went Friday to get the 64G Note 5 and trade in a Samsung Galaxy S Captivate Glide. They could Boi find the trade in phone on their system, I was going to go ahead and get the phone anyway. When they went to activate it, the buttons lit up but the phone would not come on. That was the last 64G phone that they had, so they had to reverse everything and reactivate my old phone (a Note 3). It was too late to go to another Best Buy store, so the next morning I went to another Best Buy and traded the Captivate Glide ($1.82 value on their system) and got the $200 gift card. Berry happy with the Note 5.

Any suggestions on phones I could pick up cheap, that would apply? Want to save my Moto x as a backup, and my galaxy s3 will only boot to recovery.

Traded in a Nokia Lumia 520. Was worth $0.90 but they honored the $200 credit.

Sent from my Note 5

How does Verizon do the $200 trade in when you order phone over the phone thru Verizon?

One rep says I need a promo code, another agreed but said I have to activate the phone first then I will receive a code, another said take it to store.

I got the phone doing the 24 month installment method as they said buying full retail or on contract doesn't qualify.

Will they take an old iPhone 3gs. It powers on and charges when it's plugged up but buttons don't work
