Which ROM is more stable?

I'm getting the feeling that a lot of people like the BAMF roms, but what I saw on youtube with liquid on the Tbolt blew me away. it literally looked "liquid smooth". once I get rooted, I will hit you up if I have any issues. liquid seems to be leading my choices right now.

BTW, has anyone ever heard of Chris ridgeway from Halfcab123.com? apparently the roots they have done (for a fee) have been awesome, and they have a few really hot videos on youtube. link below:

Fastest ROM On Tbolt Today!! - YouTube

$59.95 for a ROM ????????????? are you kidding me?????

Does Liquid has a Voice To Text feature? Doesn't seem to work.

Edit: Had to install the Google Voice. Search from the Market

Has anyone been successful with waking the phone up using the Volume Keys? I prefer using the volume keys, rather than reaching all the way to the top for the Power Button. I tried using the settings in Widget Locker, as well as Cyanogen settings. No luck so far.

no, I'm not kidding you. while I appreciate your concern for my financial well-being, I'm not savvy enough to root my phone myself. you know the term "you get what you pay for", well I'm paying for it. from what everyone else is saying, once I SEE it done myself, I'll be much more likely to do it on my own. I just don't trust myself enough to ruin my only phone source. Yes, I know halfcab123 could possibly screw it up...but it's MUCH more likely that I will than they will. I will use this timeframe (tbolt contract) to learn how to do all of this myself, and will probably root my next phone as soon as I upgrade. but for now, I'm willing to pay for the knowledge. ;)

Nope. He better support any future updates for you. Also every phone has a different root method.

You should stay stock imo.

I liked the Liquid Gingerbread v3.2 ROM a lot, but I'll have to go back to stock.
I wasn't getting good battery life at all in comparison to what others were getting.
I have the Rezound battery, and I could easily get 12-16 hours of battery life with the stock ROM.
I was getting only 6-8 hours with this ROM.
The Cell Standby percentage was high, and the device was always Awake in standby.

I'm not sure if they support updates, but with the news that the tbolt will eventually get ICS for sure, I may hold off on this completely. I wanted to root primarily because I wanted a more up to date o/s. so now it just depends on how long it takes for the OTA update of ICS to be done.

same here my rezound battery dont last to long with BAMF

its funny how each phone is different when i had BAMF it would easily last 2 days. running viscious MIUI ROM and i can get a full day but battery life dropped about a 1/4.
oh i also have the rezound battery. that is a MUST for anybody with this phone.

the only consistency i've heard about this phone battery situation is that the rezound battery actually does increase battery life. Oh, and the Extended battery works great too, but turns your phone into a hideous alien looking device. I will probably get the rezound battery, root or not. I'm still running the stock battery, and with juice defender, can get about 10 hours of life with moderate use before I'm down to about 30 percent. Here's hoping we get ICS very soon.

Right....is that for just an initial root and rom install? There are too many roms that you would want to try, and sometimes it takes a few flashes before you find the one thats right for you. I knew very little about Android when i first rooted my phone. Just followed the directions exactly.

To me...if you can afford the $59.99...then pay it...but, in today's economy, that is about a tank of gas in my car (Northern California) and since there are SOOOOOO many great tutorials and helpful people on forums (such as this one), I would just do it myself. That is what I did and it was as easy as PIE.

With doing it myself, I learned about my phone better. I am able to backup ROMS and install NEW ROMS within an hour...if I don't like a ROM....restore the previous one or install.

If you pay the $59.99, make sure you know what you are getting.

Defcon,
I hear ya. I've had the money for the Root for about a week now, and I'm really on the fence about it. with the news about ICS coming to the tbolt, I've had serious 2nd thoughts. that being said, I work 2 jobs, and don't really have a whole lot of free time to experiment with my phone as much as I'd like. I've seen enough testimonials about halfcab 123 (including a video on youtube) to feel pretty safe about them doing the root and ROM install. they do offer support after the root, but I figure if they didn't, I could always come here and get help!!! :p actually, I'd probably PM you for help if I got stuck!!!

@Defcon: I've been running Infected Eternity and want to check something else out. What pros/cons have you experienced with IKream compared to Inf. Eternity?

Thanks for the wisdom!

OKAY....so I'm taking the plunge on this ROOTING thing, but I have no idea what ROM I would like to use. the person remotely rooting for me can flash any ROM I want, but I have to decide. Sense 3.5 infected , liquid smooth 3.2, and cm9 are what I'm juggling now. I would just like to know what YOU guys, who have probably tried every ROM out there, think about my three choices, and if you would recommend any others. thanks in advance!!

If you want stable and everything works I strongly suggest Bamf 1.11with Imo 5.1 sense kernel. If you want fast and stable but without sense functions I suggest thundershed 1.4 with imo 6.1 kernel.

I flashed Infected Eternity last night and so far it is pretty legit. I have noticed it lag slightly a couple times, but nothing I can't live with. I might head over to infectedrom.com later to see if there are any known issues or fixes. I haven't messed with Eternity-specific settings much to see if anything I can change makes a difference, and that is mostly because I don't understand what all the settings actually do, but I might mess around with them sometime. Overall though I am definitely happy with it!
