Which should I get?

I'm in the US on T-Mobile and can't decide between the following:
-Sony Xperia XA
-Honor 5x
-BLU Vivo XL

I'm also thinking about getting my mom a new phone. She wants a good camera but will end up dropping it a few time so it should be durable. Suggestions?

Hi! You have some good choices there - I'd personally go with Sony or the Honor device. I suggest watching some unboxing and review videos on YouTube - look for Android Authority there and for Android Central reviews here as well - and testing out the phones in the store if possible to see which one would suit you most!

With regards to your mom, what is your budget? What kind of features would she like, other than a good camera? The first thought that came to my mind was a Samsung device - you can grab an S6 for a great price now. Any Samsung device will have a very good camera. As far as durability is concerned, my mom has dropped her S4 and S6 Edge a bunch of times and nothing has ever happened - but I'd grab an Otterbox or another good quality case to minimize the impact.

The Samsung S6 is a bit out of my price range (I don't want to take the chance on a refurbished device). Looking around a bit more, I saw the ASUS Zenfone Zoom on Amazon for $199 and the Honor 8 for $299 and was thinking about getting one of those. The ASUS seems to have mixed reviews on the camera though so I'm not too sure yet.

Also I was leaning toward the Honor 5x but the ASUS camera is tempting if its good. It seems like the software is what's holding it back and I'm wondering if there have been any updates to address this.

You have some good choices lined up there! I'm actually looking at a Zenfone myself for an eventual upgrade. The camera seems to be one of the things that's bit iffy on the device but, like anything, I'd recommend looking at the camera and it's functionality in person or on review sites. The Honor is also an awesome device and I'm pretty sure it's in the Android Central's Buyer's Guide for smart/economical purchases. Check it out!

LeEco S3....just got one and it's fantastic. $157 after tax on their site. Return the Honor 8 until you check the LeEco options.

Good to hear! I would say the Asus is a great way to go - but really, either choice would be a good one. If you feel like you can't decide, go to the store and try them out and see which one feels better in the hand, which one you can see yourself using for a longer period of time, etc. Good luck!
