Which version of Android did you start with? Which version are you using today?

This is every version of Android that I have run to date. Anyone else remember all of their different versions?

2.2.1
2.2.2
2.3.4
2.3.5
2.3.6
4.0.1
4.0.3
4.0.4
4.1.1
4.1.2
4.2.1
4.2.2
4.3
4.4.2

Needless to say, rooting made up at least half of Android versions being used.

I started with 2.0 Ecalir. However I also used 1.6 Donut. I always have the latest Android version since I only buy unlocked bootloader phones. I still feel Android 2.0 is more advance than iOS7.1.

Started on 4.4, I then worked my way up to 4.4.2, is been a long road but I think I'm in it fit the long haul. That .2 added such a personal touch that I won't ever look at a blackberry the same.

Started with Eclair on the LG Ally which was updated to Froyoand I've been on everything (every API level, not necessarily every . .x) in between, via the HTC Thunderbolt on Froyo and Gingerbread, Galaxy Nexus on ICS and all JB versions up to 4.4, Nexus 7 '12 from 4.1 to 4.4, Moto X from 4.2 to 4.4.2 up to 4.4.2 currently on Moto X and Nexus 7 '13 and a Google TV that's still on 3.(something? would have to check).

2.1 on my OG Epic 4G. I think that was Froyo.

2.0, 2.0.1 and 2.1.x are all Eclair, Froyo starts at 2.2.

I guess for the rest of it, here's the breakdown:

Android Alpha 2007
Android Beta

Android 1.0 (level 1) 2008
Android 1.1 (level 2) 2009

Android 1.5 Cupcake (level 3)

Android 1.6 Donut (level 4)

Android 2.0 Eclair (level 5)
Android 2.0.1 Eclair (level 6)
Android 2.1 Eclair (level 7) 2010

Android 2.2 Froyo (level 8)

Android 2.3 Gingerbread (level 9)
Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread (level 10) 2011

Android 3.0 Honeycomb (level 11)
Android 3.1 Honeycomb (level 12)
Android 3.2 Honeycomb (level 13)

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (level 14)
Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich (level 15)

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean (level 16) 2012
Android 4.2 Jelly Bean (level 17)
Android 4.3 Jelly Bean (level 18) 2013

Android 4.4 Kit Kat (level 19)

I started with Eclair with my HTC EVO 4G.

It QUICKLY got updated to FROYO that august (an HTC rep I ran into told me "expect it around August" and he was right).

On kit Kat now

3 months after the GS3 came out, I got a great deal here on a GS2 for ?140.00 outright with a basic ?10 p.m. contract.
I was surprised it arrived factory sealed with the recent ICS 4.0, when I was expecting Gingerbread 2.3.
JB 4.1.2 was a big improvement, though I had to wait almost a year.
I missed on 4.2. I am now 3 months in with a Note 3.
4.3 was a bigger jump and advance than I expected. (I can clear cache in Storage etc.)
Kitkat is running well for a week and has changed very little, thankfully.

I do wish I had started early with Android, but then I suspect I would have become frustrated too quickly. Thanks for improving it for me.
Besides, I had a 7 year love affair with 8 Sony Ericsson P910i's.

2.1 on HTC Aria quickly followed by Galaxy S Vibrant (on 2.1).

Currently using Note 3 on 4.3 awaiting the 4.4 update from Verizon Wireless

I'm surprised so many people in the thread started rather late :-P

Aria (2.1) -> GS Vibrant (2.1 - 2.2) -> HTC Vivid (4.0.4) -> Xperia ion (4.0.4) -> GS2 Skyrocket (2.3.6 - 4.0.2 - 4.1.2) -> GS3 (4.1.2 - 4.3) -> GN3 (4.3)

I started with Froyo on an LG Optimus V. I'm now using a Nexus 5, which means I have the latest Android version, currently KitKat (4.4.2).

The Optimus V was my first smart phone (unless you consider the LG Rumor a smart phone).

I started with 2.0.1 First Android phone was a Droid 1 in 2010.

I either rooted and installed 2.1 quick or the update came so quick OTA that I barely had time with 2.0.1 I had some trouble with that Droid 1 a few years ago and was stuck on 2.0.1 for months. Was finally able to put 2.2 on it last year.

I am currently on 4.4.2 on a Moto G. I have been on every Android version since 2.0.1...except HC. Its amazing where Android started vs where its at now.

Cut my teeth on my trusty little Samsung Galaxy Stellar, running 4.0.4 out of the box.... I look back at that little phone fondly.... plucky little thing that did what I asked of it.... not bad for a 'free' smartphone.

Now, I'm running 4.4.2 on my Nexus 5.

I started with 1.6 Donut on my HTC Hero (Its running 2.3.7 now lol). My current phone has 4.4.2 (Moto X).
