Which Weather Widget/App?

I love this forum because there are so many Android veterans on here. I figure there is a wealth of experience to draw on.

I've used Weather Bug for years and it has worked well for me, but with the new phone I'd like to try something new for getting my weather.

I prefer a minimal Widget on my home screen--clock, temp, current conditions--but once I tap on there I want the full treatment, i.e. dewpoint, pollen count, UV index, sunrise/set, etc.

I tried Yahoo weather and while it is visually pleasing it doesn't have all the bells and whistles I want.

I use Nova Prime launcher if that makes a difference. I don't want the Google search bar on my home screen. (I guess it means I can't use stock Google widget.)

What does the Pixel 2 community recommend for a weather app/widget and why?

I have been using weather timeline for quite sometime on various devices and like it alot. The assorted amount of widget options is awesome as well as the tweaks you can make to each one.

If you want to mimic Google's At A Glance widget then try out Another Widget..

Select review for my device only and here is the first reviews that come up:

Works fine on my non Google phones so I don't see why using it on a Pixel with Nova would be an issue. Either way it's free so nothing to lose by giving it a try. If not no worries and best of luck in the search..

Probably an issue with Oreo.

Could be.. I'll download it my Pixel 2 and try it out. I don't use Nova though..

OK, I installed Another Widget and I was liking it. It's been on my phone for 10 minutes and the widget clock is already 40 seconds behind the system clock. I'm kind of anal about clocks being synced up (daylight saving time switchovers I OCD dial in all clocks to the second) so I can't live with two clocks on the same device showing different times. Too bad because I liked the minimal approach of this app and I was willing to get my weather from Google.

Weather Underground does not have a minimalistic widget. Makes my home screen look cluttered. Love all the data inside the app; the ads are very obtrusive, however.

The search continues...

Bummer.. When I use Another Widget on my other phones I never have the clock displayed as the clock is already in the taskbar, which is good enough for me.

I'll try it out later and see if I get the same delay on my Sony phone.

Yes, I really like the look of Another Widget, though the time mismatch is annoying. (And I could do without the leading zero in the time.) If the time was coordinated I would probably use it.

I tried 1Weather but didn't like the widgets.

I kind of like this look, it's Another Widget with only the date and weather showing (no clock) and Xperia Digital clock widget using only the clock. I wish I could get the date/weather widget closer to the clock. Maybe there's a setting in Nova? Anyway, this is the sort of minimal look I'm trying to achieve. BTW, all of my icons on my home screen, except Chrome and Message+ when tapped, reveal multiple more icons underneath. So I can access a lot of stuff from my home screen albeit with two taps.

Set widgets to overlap or increase grid size.

I'm digging this currently app is called authentic weather. There are no ads and only IAP unlocks dark mode for 99 cents. You can display temp but it's already on the Google widget so I have it hidden.

I also use Weather Underground. They have several different styles and sizes of widgets.
