Whilst skiing ice managed to get into the charging slot, now it won't charge

The charger will not fit into my Motorola g5 and is stuck on 0%. The phone still shows the 0% screen so I assume the rest of the phone is working. Any suggestions of what to do would be helpful

Welcome to Android Central! It's presumably been damaged by the water. You'll probably have to get the charging port replaced -- bring it to a repair shop.

If I understand you correctly, the plug will no longer fit in the jack, rather than the phone is refusing to take a charge. If that is rhe case, you have damaged the socket or got some junk in there. I suggest you take a very close look at the socket. If you cannot get it out or the socket is damaged, you will just have to get it cleaned out or repaired. The key word here is GENTLE. Don't make it worse. A toothpick might dislodge whatever is in there, if that is the case.
