Whitestone Dome Screen Protector installed S10 plus: First Impressions

Whitestone replied to my email today, and they also approved my warranty replacement. It shipped today. Hope the new one is better. If not, I'll be going without screen protection.

I thought the S10 and S10+ came with a glass screen protector already installed at the factory.

I any case, the done glass is great and will be getting it for my S10+ when it shows up.

No...it comes with the flimsiest piece of plastic you ever did see. Looks nice and feels OK but scratches easily.

My replacement from Whitestone Dome will arrive tomorrow, so today I took off the old one just to get a feel for what it's like without anything on the screen. I may not even put it on! Ohmygosh the screen and the FPS are so much better. I guess I'll put it on and see if the FPS is acceptable, but if not I'm going without anything.

Please post updates on how well the replacement works. I'm having the same issue. I've been using the Whitestone Dome for a couple years now across various devices and it is easily my favorite protector but I'm really disappointed that I can't use the FPS. It was working great with the factory applied protector but in less than a week it had already got scratched up pretty good and was making me way OCD so I ripped it off and installed the Dome. Starting to second guess that decision.

I justed installed mines with no issue. After install, I deleted and reregistered my fingerprints. I have 2 copies each of two different fingers. It seems to work the same as when the preinstalled screen protector from Samsung was on.

My experience has been that there is no noticable change from pre-installed to Whitestone.

Has anyone ever had to take OFF one of these things after it's been on for a while? Is it difficult to get the glue off your phone?

Just wondering about when it inevitably cracks, or down the road when I want to resell the phone.

Mine went as planned EXCEPT in the very top left hand corner the glue didn't reach and very fine line of the screen protector. Other than that it is working great and I have no plans of trying to remove and reinstalling it.

I have removed one. Absolutely none of the glue remains on the phone. The glass will likely crack as you peel it off but mine came off in one piece.

I don't understand how this is even possible, but thanks for the reply!

I read something about it somewhere, that it is designed so that when it is removed the adhesive sticks to the protector rather than the phone. I don't know how they do it, but rest assured, there was absolutely nothing on my phone at all.

This is exactly the price that Whitestone should be.

What you or I think of the price is mostly irrelevant. The price is based on the market demand for higher end protectors. Whitestone is not the only protector in it's price range.

Come to think of it the Samsung plastic one is rumoured to be 30 dollars. I'd rather get the Whitestone for 50.

Yes, unfortunately.

The Samsung one is a 2 pack for $20. Still overpriced.

I had to remove one on my S10+ as well. I took mine off the hard way (my nails just grew back) because I didn't search Google and didn't use a hairdryer. Anyways once it came off no glue on the phone at all.

If you're removing one search Google on how to remove Whitestone Tempered Glass screen protector. Don't do it the way I did it.
