Who’s ordered a Dbrand skin?

Does anyone know if you can still use the essential accessories like the 360 degree camera or future dock with the dbrand skin?

My guess is yes since the pogo pins look like they have enough travel to account for the thickness of a skin plus some extra. It depends on how thick the skins are and how much over-travel is built into the pins.

Unfortunately Essential hasn't released any specs on the magnetic interface yet. It's Open Source but unavailable.

Save your money on skins. It just hit me that ceramic is a low-surface-energy material. Standard vinyl wrap won't stick to the back of these phones as it doesn't contain enough surface energy for the adhesive to bond. In other words it's non-stick.

I just tested four different types of tape and a small section of 3M 1080 series vinyl wrap. The only one to stick was a 3M tape (which is technically a glue) designed specifically to bond to LSE surfaces. Everything else peeled right off like it was a Post-It note.

I was about to order a skin just to have for travel but am skipping it now.

Maybe this is why dbrand still hasn't shipped any of their skins.

That could explain it. Let's hope they release some info on it before selling skins that don't stick properly. There might be a 3M architectural wrap that works better.

Amazon has some wraps for this phone that are made from 3m material if I remember correctly. Someone over at XDA said the cut was perfect also. This king about buying one if I end up keeping this. Dbrand won't even email me back about my order status.

I thought dbrand uses 3m. Either them or slickwraps for sure does.
3M isn't the issue. Like I said in my previous post, dbrand uses 3M products but the adhesive doesn't stick well to the ceramic. I tested two standard wraps and an architectural wrap from 3M and none stuck to what I'd consider well enough to not peel at the edges. The only one that stuck was a tape, not a wrap.
