Who else doesn't use face/iris unlock?

I received my S9+ yesterday (lilac purple ftw!). This is my first Galaxy since the S3.

I've disabled the face/iris unlock, mainly because I want to see notifications on the lockscreen. This may be a dumb question, but is this a common preference?

I'm coming from the iPhone 8 Plus and much prefer front fingerprint scanners. It looks like we're headed toward face unlock, and I'm not sure if I like that direction--or maybe I'm being weird. An embedded fingerprint scanner in the screen would be my ideal.

I don't see a way for more detailed notifications to be on the always-on display. Am I missing something?

I had it on for a day and didn't care for it. I do like the fingerprint scanner on the back even though I didn't think I would. Now I love it and it's my go to meathod of unlock

I tried it turned it off. Coming from iPhone X and Samsung isn't even close, fingerprint works great and it's in the right spot this time.

Finished setting up my phone a little while ago. I'm not using it either. I prefer the fingerprint scanner myself and will just use that.

I'm not interested in it really, haven't set it up and don't think I ever will. I'm good with the fingerprint scanner and the placement feels natural. I think most people would enjoy it embedded under the screen but I don't think the technology has been figured out yet.

I dont. I don't know if I will ever use the feature(s) such as those on any phone.

I use no security. No AOD, lock screen, pin, fingerprint, pattern, beta iris/face, etc. I just clutch my phone very tightly. And want to go to my content directly.

I never used it with Samsung devices and wouldn't start with the S9.

I can't be bothered holding the phone to my face no matter Samsung or Apple. Fingerprint is my method

I don't use it because I have a bad habit of jumping from phone to phone, and I'd rather not get too attached to features like that.

I say as I returned devices because they don't let you immediately edit screenshots on the fly

You can set face/iris unlock to start when you swipe on the screen so you can still see notifications on the lockscreen.

I need to find this in the settings!!! It bugs me that the phone automatically unlocks when i just want to view a notification on the lock screen.

Also i guess this will add to a bit of extra battery when its not trying to find a face every time on the lock screen.

I enabled it on my S9, but I may turn it off. It's annoying. My phone is set to use Smart Lock at home, and the red blinking LED every time I wake the phone is really REALLY annoying, stupid, and pointless.

Settings, lockscreen and security, intelligent scan, toggle screen on intelligent scan.
