Who else is sick of all the nonsense doom and gloom over the Note 7?

Define "plenty of people". Do you mean the three dozen phone geeks who frequent sites like this? Or do you mean their parents, friends, and neighbors?

I didn't know about it at all before seeing this thread. That's probably because I don't use or care about Samsung products in general.

Don't confuse your tiny microworld with the real world.

Actually, those plenty of people would be visitors of CNET.com, Consumer Reports.com, any other Android site and people who experienced the issue firsthand. Not to mention the people they told about the issue and it spreading via word of mouth.

I doubt Samsung would have revised its warranty conditions on the S7 Active over the complaints of "three dozen phone geeks". They were made aware of an issue, reputable sources were demonstrating and writing about the issue, and Samsung responded. That's the real world.

A co-worker, this old dude who is very pro-iOS, comes in this morning and first words out of his mouth are, "Is your phone one of those new Samsung 7's?" "I said yeah, the one that explodes." Being the rectal orifice that he is, he says, "Didn't you get the email on Friday? They aren't allowing any of them in the building." Which is of course total BS.

I have had my N7 since the 18th and charge it at least twice a day at 50% or less. Fast charging at that. No heat issue what so ever. If I ain't blowed it up yets then reckon it's good to go. Yes I will swap as soon as my store calls me and says I have your new N7 come an get it. Chances are based on the way these batteries are made they had a puncture in the film and that was cause for panic. Odds are they will be fine til we get the new ones.

All of the devices are good to go until they burn up. Not trying to single you out because it's been said before. There are X number of Note 7s in the wild all of which have been recalled. What are the odds really? There are a bunch that use the odds argument until something happens to their device.

And also regarding all these ***** doom and gloomers, they all carry on about the imminent release of the iPhone 7 but fail to mention a few critical things. Apple itself has been in a downturn and they themselves have predicted that even with a new model, the downturn will continue.

The iPhone 7 is expected to be just an incremental upgrade that will not set the mobile world on fire. And to top it off, there is expected to be considerable backlash over ditching the headphone jack.

So the Note 7's recall just before iPhone 7 release will not be that big of a deal as naysayers expect.

........."that will not set the world on fire......."

LOL - did you mean to phase your point in this particular way??😆

I think I'm more sick of the comparisons. I realize comparing is essentially what makes the world go 'round, but to each their own. My favorite phone has the capability of exploding, and xyz phone will be ten times better because of this. Brand loyalty is one thing, but being constantly concerned what "the other guy" thinks just seems counterproductive.

This title of course goes to the Note 7. The phone that set the mobile world on fire!

Sorry, couldn't resist. Should've mentioned pun intended.

This. This is what I am tired of. These lame jokes (no disrespect to this poster).

I have read some really vile jokes involving the Note 7 and ISIS which, IMO, is inexcusable and not funny.

Samsung are just covering their own backside, they are and probably will be again hopeless with Warranty claims. Just have a read of this and other posters experience in the last week, I wouldn't be asking for a swap, the phone had problems before the battery fiasco, refund only imo.

...and you used Macrumors, one of the largest pro-Apple sites, to prove your point? There is no bias at all. /s

I don't know about HTC or LG (I hope LG wouldn't be bad about such a thing), but Apple--absolutely. They're so wrapped up in themselves, they really think they can twist people into believing the world they want people to believe.

You are so right! Apple has an amazing ability to get its followers (I do not call them isheep or consumers, but followers) to believe what they want them to believe. For an example, remember the whole "You're holding it wrong" fiasco. Talk about arrogance! LOL

Anyway, I know that me and my husband are both keeping (and exchanging) our Note 7s because we really like them a lot.

I'm not too worried about it. My N7 is working fine... doesn't heat up during charging if I turn off fast charge (still charges pretty fast).

When replacements are available, I'll definitely get mine... but I'm 99% sure my current N7 will never catch fire.

Exactly how I'm feeling too

If you bothered to read it you will see its the alternatives section on mr, believe me they are pro Samsung/Android in there.

Not only that but the S7 has rumors of overheating and the Note 5 has an issue with the power saving mode and the internet not working, at least thats what Tmobile said.

The news appeared on the mainstream news in my country also. It's the first time I saw phone issue being reported in mainstream news here. I will say it will be etched in people's mind for a while.

The Samsung Active issue was reported in your mainstream news?

Hahaha, funny stuff.. I had the Note 5 for a year and a half and S7 Edge since release day and neither had any of those issues. Not sure if the T-Mobile person was trying to lessen the pain or incur new pain Samsung's way??
It is a shame though, I am sure the Note 7 had a great future ahead but rebounding from this will have to wait for the Note 8..

Seriously at the end of the day it only matters what I think. I like the phone and when they start selling them again I'm going to purchase another one. The end.

The Note 7 is a remarkable phone, by any definition.

Whether one is attracted to the phone is a matter of past product loyalties, usage needs and the ever present temporal desires the market participants.

For me, this is it. The Note 7 presents an overwhelming array of goodness. There are few, if any, phones currently or soon to arrive on the market that can match the overall features of this phone.
