Who got the Nexus 6? How is your battery? And How fast the turbo charger?

And here's another kick in the teeth. I was just looking at the Note 4. For all the complaints about the capacitative v on-screen buttons, you lose about 1/3 inch VERTICAL with on-screen. Meaning that though the N6 has the larger screen, it is essentially equal to the screen on the Note (which measures almost exactly 1/3 inch smaller on the diagonal).. Might even be smaller.

Yeah but you don't lose that real estate during important things like watching a video/movie... They go away... that small area of virtual buttons while surfing the internet, reading or on Twitter/Facebook/Google+ isn't important (then again not like 1/3 of an inch is a ton of extra video watching space either)

I think physical home, cap buttons or virtual on screen buttons is just a form of taste... My personal taste is to have the virtual buttons that go away in applications you don't want to see them (Hulu, Netflix, Youtube or any video based service) or any time you go full screen on an image and come back when I need them....

Wow, it looks like that's going to be a nice car dock. I just bought a Qi car dock off of Amazon. I guess it will have to go in my other car when the TYLT one come out.

I'll be curious to see how much they charge for it..... I rarely charge my phone in the car anymore but that would be a pretty nice one.. Specially if you were going on a long trip and wanted to use your GPS and keep the phone charged.... I think they make a darn good wireless charger.... (Why I have 3 of the VU desktop ones)

The battery life issues caused me to cancel my hard fought Play Store order and just stick with the Note 4 for now. I hate Touchwiz and the bloat, but it's liveable after the mass amount of tweaking I've done and the battery is really awesome.

That said, I don't know what's worse... The Nexus 6 having 3-4 hour screen on time while the Note 4 does 5-6 with the same res and battery, or that people are trying to justify the miserable battery life the Nexus 6 is putting up so far. I'm personally going to keep a close eye on it and if software tweaks make it better I'll pick one up, but for now it's very, very sadly canceled. Sucks because I love stock Android...

If it makes you feel better, SamMobile released a video of the "final build" of Lollipop for the S5 (and presumably the Note 4) and it looked really fast and fluid. In similar usage cases, I'm seeing a 25-30% drop in battery from the Note 4 to the Nexus 6. Still too early to say for sure with this only being charge cycle number two, but still.

Have not had a note device since the 2. All this talk about the note 4 and I checked it on swappa and it it is coming down in price. If only they had a US unlocked model.

I do not want to have ATT bloatware nightmares!

Sad thing is----swap that same panel that's on the Note 4 onto the Nexus 6 and we're having a much different conversation about battery life. Google and Moto knew this and priced this phone at $650 anyways. Shrewd business move, but kind of a slight to customers who aren't stupid about the devices they buy.

Don't get me wrong; I bought one well aware of all this. Everything I ever said about this phone from the jump has been true. I want to like this phone, though, and I'm willing to wait it out and see if Google responds with a well-timed software update.

You are not helping me by telling me the Note 4 panel is superior and that the battery life is better too! lol! and charges faster and has an s pen ...etc...etc...

You buy the Nexus 6 for the software, the quicker updates, and just because Nexus. The Note 4 is the baddest in the land right now, but that's just a testament to how good the hardware is on flagship Sammy devices.

haha, maybe I should just get a note 4 instead of oneplus one.

The Note 4 doesn't charge faster than the Nexus 6.

If you want to get technical, it actually does. From experience and from Anandtech's tests. The difference is negligible, though, so it's not a huge deal.

Thanks, I did not know that. Still, I don't mind the space when browsing on my current 4.7 Razr Maxx HD ;)

How much of a difference is their? Because from personal experience both take around 1 hour and 30 minutes to charge from 5% to 100%.

Most test I've seen have the note 4 going from 0 - 100% about 3 - 5 minutes faster... I think it was 1:58 & 1:53 so negligible difference!

I really wanted the nexus 6 and I tried to ignore the poor battery... I shouldn't have to have a bunch of chargers around or keep it on a charger at all during the day. I take my htc one m8 GPE off the charger when I get up and never have to charge it again even days on heavy use.

I flew from Boston to Wales with a layover in Dublin and used it as my mp3 player while browsing the web in Dublin. When i got to my hotel in Cardiff I still had some battery left

We're talking 5-10 minutes difference. That's why I said "technically" and "negligible".

Unless you have one of those lifestyles where you are literally never near a power outlet or car cigarette lighter port, or couldn't possibly carry an Anker external charger, I couldn't see tolerating Samsung's hideous bloat for a few extra hours of use per charge. The battery here is clearly sufficient for a day of moderate to heavy use. Do you REALLY need 6 hours screen on time with 30 hours of standby? If you do, OK, but otherwise, I couldn't stomach the bloat.

He's probably enjoying the superior screen, superior camera, etc, too. You can throw the Google Now Launcher on the Note 4 to alleviate the launcher issue; we can't make the battery larger or screen newer on the Nexus. The battery is a legitimate issue on the Nexus 6, but I believe most of it can be fixed via software. The rest will be capped with an inefficient display.

I've already figured if I just set it down on the wireless charger at my desk for say an hour per day I should be able to easily get 24+ hours and 4 - 5 hours of screen on time... considering during my work week I only average about 3 hours of screen on time as is and my Nexus 5 use to get 3 - 4 hours on the wireless charger per day (mostly to make sure it made it to bed time after work) The 6 should be awesome on battery...
