Who got the Nexus 6? How is your battery? And How fast the turbo charger?

Hopefully these are bugs impacting performance that will be rectified. We are due a Google play services upgrade any day and there is some talk about a cellular bug that me be impacting 5.0

Not to beat on the note 4 vs n6 dead horse but the biggest difference is software not hardware, and early software is often patched.

this might be it. I forgot to put it on the charger last night. woke up in the middle of the night and noticed about 30% drop in battery while the phone was idle.

please report how battery life go for u guys..I need to hear from real user..and need to know how fast the charger go..thanks.
Battery life is so, so. I'm sure it'll improve over the lifetime of the Nexus 6 through updates and general changes made to apps as a result of Project Volta. But out of the box I'd say it's fairly easy for me to kill. Better than my Moto X but I'm sure I could kill it in 4-6 hours of heavy use. If I'm out and not using it much, I think it could last about 12 + hours easily. It's early yet. I just got it so I haven't really had an outing in which I try to be conservative with my usage. I still charge it at work. I did nearly kill it from 5PM to 11 PM yesterday but I ended up throwing it know the charger so I could go to bed.

Overall I'm okay with battery life. I was expecting more, but I'm okay with it especially since the phone supports Turbocharging.

Solid battery life. It idles pretty amazing for me. First full day yesterday. Took off charger at 6 am I use it to stream music from internet over Bluetooth on my commute to work which is like 45 mins to a hour then at work imuse it for texting and looking up prescriptions/light web surfing. By lunch time I'm was at 75% and during that hour I did some surfing and texting as well. After lunch, I basically did the same as before lunch. Left work at 5 and battery life was at around 60%. On my commute again I was stuck in traffic and I streamed music for about 15 mins before getting on the phone via Bluetooth for about 10 mins. Then because traffic was so bad I joined a hangiut to help my cousin trouble shoot a connection problem on his car for about 5 mins via LTE. After I streamed music for the rest of car commute which was about 20 mins. Got home used phone to surf web and buy some movie tickets and make a quick call. Battery was at 55% at 6pm. I put on quick charger for less than 10 mins while my wife changed and battery went to around 65% I believe. Went to movies and streamed music on the commute there and on commute back. Didn't charge battery overnight because I wanted to see if it would die and I woke today at 8:20am to see battery at 20%. For me, that's amazing. No phone I have had recently (Nexus 5, moto x 2013) besides note 4 would give me these results. I'm pretty happy but I will update after a weeks use.

That is pretty awesome. I know some reviews do say that the battery isn't consistent. some days are very good, some days aren't. what was the screen on time for you?

This will be my first full day with the Nexus 6. Took it off the charger an hour ago. I will be back to report. I'm loving this phone, man.

You buy the Nexus 6 for the software, the quicker updates, and just because Nexus. The Note 4 is the baddest in the land right now, but that's just a testament to how good the hardware is on flagship Sammy devices.

If Verizon didn't lock them down Note 4 is what I would get. But they do, and it's getting only worse and that is the deal killer for me. Yes I know that there is a Developer Edition but they are even more difficult to get than N6. Seems development for it will be very thin.

Definitely understand. I put Google Play Services 6.5 on this morning (had to pull the apk) and it seems to have made a positive impact on the battery. I'll let you know throughout the day.

Takes a few charge cycles but initially the battery life is sub par at best.

How is your N6 battery life relative to the Turbo?

For me they are about the same. But your miles may vary. The Droid turbo screen I think sucks up the battery a little more then the N6 I believe.

Well, from reading through the last few pages, I guess its just about the same or a little better than an N5 which I am using>?
I don't have mine yet but a year more of mediocrity. I mean I was hoping for battery life upgrade along with the phone upgrade. I guess not.
Meaning I ain't getting rid of or returning it. Just suck it up and deal.
I buy a nexus every year so here's hoping for next year. lol

I'm getting almost double the battery life vs my nexus 5.. on the 5 I averaged 10 hours with 2 hours screen on before dropping below 10% three days on the 6 I'm going 17 hours with 3 screen on and usually 5% left at bed time! Not outstanding but manageable...

Where did you find that apk? Can you point me to it? I looked last night and could not find it. Thanks

3rd battery cycle came today, 3hr 7 m sot and I have 45% left. Not exactly a disaster.

I read as well that there are some cellular radio issues this may address that are impacting standby time. We will see. Thanks for the link

That sounds not so bad. Maybe there is hope, Hallelulah :p

A point update could go a long way with this battery. The only thing I'm really worried about at this time is consistency. Nexus 5 always seemed to have issues with that despite updates.

Yeah it's a vast improvement over the 5.. if you're a normal human you sleep 6 - 8 hours a day so 17 hours should be plenty! I figure I set it on my wireless charger at work at least an hour per day to get a quick top charge it would probably last until morning the next day...
