Who has the Maxx already or picking one up on day 1 (Today)?

So I wanted to wait until I could get the device in my hands before I bought one. Tried it out at my local corporate store on Tuesday afternoon, and liked it enough to decide on it over the HTC One. But They were already sold out

So I went home and ordered on VZW website. Still haven't gotten shipment confirmation. Anyone else order online?

Has yours shipped? Mine says "pre-ordered" which is odd since the phone is definitely out...

A few days before the launch date the pre-order date moved back a week to August 27. They must be constrained.

I had a Sprint HTC One running stock Android before I got the Maxx. I'd normally go with 15 hours on battery and 4 hours of screen time before needing to recharge. I'd have 5-10% of battery life leftover using the One. My iPhone 5 with iOS 7 would go for 28 hours on battery with 7 hours of screen time before it was time to plug it in. The Maxx, well... I'm having a really hard time draining the battery. My usage equates to the same patterns on the One and iPhone 5. One night, I threw HD videos of YouTube streaming, playing music on Rdio, browsing sites with multiple tabs, playing different HD games, etc. The lowest my battery has gotten in a day is 60%.

On average, I noticed that for every 10% of battery, I get one hour of screen time. Sometimes more. I'm figuring I'll get around 10-14 hours of screen time before a recharge. I'm planning to see how long I can make the battery last before needing to plug it in. I'll get back to you guys this weekend!

I would love to know what your settings are.. Syncs off ? Brightness at lowest? wifi/gps/Bluetooth off ? I get 1 day 10 hours with about 4 hours screen time

I'm seeing the same. Auto brightness, gps on all the time, stream some they Bluetooth, on WiFi maybe 20% of the time. Bluetooth is the only thing I switch off. Sync a gmail account, a corporate account, Facebook and Google plus account. I'll get at least 24 hours of charge and 9-10 hours on screen time.

Well first I have noticed it seems like sometimes Chrome gets "stuck" or something and eats up battery when I check my battery sucking apps. That's seemed to happen on the last couple of phones I've had. Secondly I don't think you'll get 10 hours screen time with 34 hours of off charge time.

It's all I'm using on my phone. It just seems like some times (though very rarely) that I'll notice a phone going down faster than normal and I'll check my GSam battery app and Chrome will be the number one app using juice even when I had used it very very little. So I go in and force stop it and the quick battery drain stops.

so youre on pace for about 27 hours battery life on zero to light usage......pretty much zero
and they advertise 48 hours? lol im only buying it if it lasts 18-20hours on moderate to heavy usage

3 percent and hour would give you 33 hours. Not 27

When I decide to buy something, one thing that I don't care about is the rep's numbers. That does explain why I can't buy a phone without all the stupid upsell when I'm in a corporate store. After upgrading my son's line in June and spending most of the time saying no to accessory bundles, cases, chargers, and screen protectors, I decided never to go into a corp store again and just use a reseller from now on. If it hadn't been my impatience to upgrade ASAP after my upgrade date and my last phone's just barely hanging on status, I would have done that this time. Thankfully, this rep wasn't as annoying as the last one.

I started using mine at 6 a.m. yesterday morning. I used it until 1 a.m. trying to run down the battery. I finally went to bed and the Maxx had 25 percent left.

The only syncs I have running are for my Google apps, brightness at 50%, wifi on about half the day, no GPS or Bluetooth. I kept these same settings for my One in order to do a precise comparison. I finally ran the battery down to 23% with 25 hours on battery and 9 hours of screen time.

Battery update:

I'm currently at 35 hours on battery and 5 hours 40 mins of screentime with 32% battery remaining.

If you've always wanted an Android phone with insane battery life, this is the one.

This is what I'm getting after my first full charge. I've been on WiFi but have downloaded quite a fee apps and downloaded about 8gb worth of Google play music. Screen at about 40% brightness.
