That is my opinion. Even the VZW statements have simply said an update will remove the free "offer". Nothing on the phone was ever mentioned. And I, as an IT Pro, see no need to touch the app on the phone. However, that doesn't preclude the possibility of an update for the app. I just don't see the requirement for a new app.
And, about the title of this thread. Do not be confused. As of 11:14: MDT, NO ONE has updated their TBolt with the officially pushed out MR2.

You don't need to be rooted to install the leaded MR2. The first version was for unrooted phones, but now there's a process for rooted phones as well.If any of you are rooted you should try the leaked MR2 radio. Much better and no more reboots from what I have seen in the XDA forums. Ginger Bamf ROM is really good too with the new Sense elements that are put in there.
my phone downloaded a file called firmware update about two hours ago. How can I tell if that was the mr2 update?
Might have been a failed attempt to download and install MR1. If you have 1.12.xxx.x you still do not have MR1.Nope, mine is 1.12xxxxx. I wonder what the hell that was.....
Will the MR2 update affect our ability to root?

Ya know I could care less about the taking out of the Tether Hotspot I just want my phone to stop rebooting and killing the battery 10% or more every time it does reboot.

No, MR2 will not affect your ability to root.

It installed it just now after i checked for an update. I now have build number 1.13.605.7 CL341545 release keys. Looks like i have a different kernel also. Is this MR2?
Im running the leaked Updated MR2 & I there is a file labeled "TetheringGuard" that is built into this build..This could possibly be installed to prevent the free tethering.
Although interesting, I don't see any evidence that VZW has "blocked 4G tethering" anywhere at anytime. Result; frivolous or inapplicable lawsuit.
Remember, in legal documents, words matter!

Good point. Still, they haven't (yet) blocked anything. But who knows, maybe this will make them think twice.Words do indeed matter. This is a complaint to the FCC, not a lawsuit. It's not frivolous. If it were a lawsuit it would be unripe and requesting an advisory opinion, but again, it's not a lawsuit.
Same here. I am having about 1 an hour now. I don't care when it is just sitting on my desk but it is now happening while i am on a call. I was going to wait for the OTA but i don't know if i can wait much longer. My Tbolt my have to grow wings for when i whip it across the room out of frustration.
