Who here has stuck/dead pixels on their new HTC One?

Hassle? They may not fight you on it, but there will still be a 4-5 day turnaround on it.

Exactly. I'd bet it's more than 4-5 days too unless you want to authorize another purchase to your card for an immediate replacement that will be credited back when they receive the old one.

The photos look bad... That said, the moderators should make a sticky in here with a thread titled "HTC One issues" or something like this, so all people can easily share their issues in single place...

Alright so Ive got a total of 5 dead pixels I can see so far. I dont think im going to return it since they're so tiny and cant see them unless I try anyway.
Still sort of a bummer though.

I suspect i had a stuck pixel, although i wasnt sure what it was to be honest ha It was a tiny white spec basically on the left side of the dock beside the dialer icon, barely noticeable and cant be seen at all now, i assume it un stuck if thats possible?? Its gone anyway

This thread is really starting to scare me. I had planned on getting One(ha get it) on Friday. Might have to wait for a few weeks to see how widespread this problem is.

I hate to see threads like this looking for negative things on the first day of (limited) availability. I guess I should have expected it just like "the browser is snappier" after any OS update...

Don't worry too much about it. The same thing happens with iPhone owners every time a new model comes out. Stuck or dead pixels, scratches, build problems, etc. I've owned all the iPhone models and never had any of these issues. You'll probably be fine.

Agreed, also if you look at the original forum poll, the ones that are reporting issues are in the minority ( I believe roughly 30%) Don't get me wrong, if I see some dead pixels I'll be swapping mine out, but at this point it looks like the ones with issues are in the minority, otherwise there would already be a big media stink about it.

You usually hear the negative stuff on forums such as this one. The vast majority of owners who are happy and have no problems with their devices won't post.

Something is telling me that some of those "dead pixels" are being caused by something else. Possibly the GPU/CPU or other. It's not uncommon to have one or two every few phones, but 5-6, even 15+ on a lot of phones? Doesn't make sense. I am stoked to get my phone on Friday, have several cases and such order for it. However, if it comes with flaws, I will be using it as a rental until the GS4 launches. I'm not one to fool with replacement after replacement. I understand the early batch launch woes, but that doesn't necessarily mean I have to put up with them.

A few of the forum posts over on XDA were mentioning that theirs didn't exactly act like a dead or stuck pixel should. One user said that it looked almost like there was some sort of adhesive between the glass and the screen that was distorting the light.

Totally agree. Evenly spaced pixels in a single row all showing white on a black screen? That probably isn't the pixels.

I agree that the ones reporting issues are in the minority, but 30%?? That's quite a number reporting problems...

That's out of the people that have bothered to go into the thread and vote, people having a bad experience with a device are much more likely to vote and complain about it than people that aren't having any issues.

I'm not saying there aren't some quality control issues, but it's probably not as bad as it looks.
