Who here has stuck/dead pixels on their new HTC One?

i had a ton of issues with the one x with white dots on a black screen.. i returned like 3 of them. Most noticeable when a youtube video was loading. If you want to really check just download the dead pixel test and try different colors. You have to be in a really pitch black room to sometimes see them. I hope the One is better.

My first One has a flawless screen. I have a replacement coming tomorrow. I sure hope it doesn't have this problem.

Sorry guys, but here is the kicker: try looking on a black background, full brightness, then use a magnifying glass (or jewelers loop as I did) ... found 4 or 5 stuck BUT cannot see with your naked eye.

I used this trick back when I thought I had a dead pixel on my iPhone, all to discover it was a piece of dust.

If it can't be seen with the naked eye then it is not a problem for me. I'm not THAT critical. My replacement phone has a flusher screen, but a teensy gap and the power button is so flush, it almost can't be hit. I was happier with my first One. I'll check the screen closely tonight, but so far that looks pretty good.

I hear ya! My first black one had monster gaps top n bottom; this one is totally gap free, and you're right, I can't see the sub pixels with my naked eye so it's damn good ... I bet with the magnifier they all have at least a couple "invisible" ones. My iPhone 5 and both my kids iPods do, same thing, can't see them without an aid.

I'm on my second phone and they both have had one dead/stuck pixel. On the first phone it was a bright white speck that was visible to the naked eye up against a dark background. I didn't notice it right away but once I did it drove me crazy and I could not stop looking at it. This was partly because it was located in a spot that was dead space on the home screen so it was not covered up by an app icon or a tile on BlinkFeed so I decided to send it back for a replacement.

When the second phone came the first thing I did was look for dead/stuck pixels when the phone powered up and I could have sworn there weren't any but then I noticed one the following day. This time it was smaller and a reddish color but is in a location that is covered by the tiles on BlinkFeed so you don't really notice it on that home screen, however it is visible on the app icon home screen.

Also this second phone had some build-quality issues. There were a couple of very tiny scrapes/scratches on the bottom speaker and on the top of the back of the phone where that plastic is injected...its not even with the aluminum. The first phone had no issues except for the pixel. I decided not to send this phone back for a replacement partly because I don't have the patience and partly because this is a black model and there are bound to be some scratches at some point anyway so those I can live with. As far as the pixel it is not as noticeable as the one on the first phone so I can live it plus because it is not white I might be able to fix it with that app.

Overall this is a great phone and I am very happy with it but it is disappointing that some phones have these issues considering it is being sold as a high-end/high-build-quality phone. Also I have a question for the black model owners - On the back is the camera lens flush with the metal or is there a space between the two? The reason I ask is because on the first phone I received I could have sworn the space that is on the current phone was filled in with the injected plastic making it flush with the metal. I have looked at pics online and there seems to be both (i.e. the lens with plastic injected around the lens making it perfectly flush with the metal and then what I have now which is the lens and a space between the metal). It also may be that the silver phones have the white plastic around the camera lens making it flush and the black phones don't have that plastic leaving a small space.

BTW I purchased my phone from Newegg.com and could not be happier with their service. Not only did they have the best price for a black HTC One on upgrade w/ Sprint ($129.99) but they provide a pre-paid label for returns, did not question the reason for my return and sent the replacement out within 24-hrs via next-day shipping just like the first phone. If I had decided to send the second phone back as well I have no reason to believe there would have been a problem with this retailer.

I just exchanged one today that had some. The new one also has them, but because of where they are (near the top of the screen) they are impossible to see unless the screen is all black since the notification bar obscures them.

I've just decided to live with it where they are. The phone is PERFECT otherwise, so I don't want to risk getting one that's worse. It's also a recent build (may 8th) so HTC is definitely working out the kinks.

Welp, I've been through 7 devices, and all have had screen defects. The last three have all had clusters of stuck pixels and dust under the glass. I'm still within the return period, so I'm considering just returning the One entirely. Not sure yet.

I have noticed, though, that all of the other little build issues have been worked out on the newer devices, except for the screen.

I have a decision to make I have a one I've had since release but the build is kinda flawed, gap at top, power button kinda sunk in, milky home and back button but no stuck pixels, my new one came it is perfect build, no gaps, flush everywhere bright buttons I mean this phone is perfect with one stuck pixel that's only really noticeable in the app drawer, which should I send back

I it's perfect otherwise, I'd keep it. Having been through more than a few, you're more likely to get a bad one the next go round.

I had one on the first Developer Edition I got in the beginning of May. Exchanged it for a second one and so far no issues!

I'm not sure I want to open up that can of worms. Dead pixels? No thanks. Ignorance is bliss.

I sure as h*** ain't gonna check mine for that, either.

Yeah I wouldn't. Just assume you're a lucky one and didn't have them.

In other news, T-Mobile screwed up my exchanges, so they're letting me keep the One, and giving me an S4 for $50. I thought they were joking when they told me.

Funny, One default paper (the one with a bridge) on my htc one got me to thinking that I had a stuck pixel. Makes me OCD and almost return my phone. :-D
