I switched from years with iPhone's to Android devices. I'm still surprised at how 'fanboy' people can be when it comes to mobile phones.
I probably won't ever return to an Apple device, but cut them some slack. It's thanks to Apple quite honestly, that we're in a position now where we have a great choice of smartphones. They single handedly kick started several revolutions. Until the iPhone was released, there was little choice for cellphones with style and substance.
Who kick started the tablet craze? In the face of total mockery, they pressed ahead and now every major smartphone manufacturer is making tablets.
And let's be honest, they pretty much drove the mobile app scene and lured big players in to treating mobile gaming as a serious viable option for gamers.
You can knock Apple till you're blue in the face, and yes they source much of their components from elsewhere - that is how this show works. Google don't make components our hardware, they get others to do it to. And I'm pretty sure not every component on a Samsung circuit board is made in house. Don't confuse Apple as a manufacturer, primarily they are a design house. And nobody can really argue, they've got design down to a T, that only a fool believes others didn't feel inspired by their design to create similar.
For the record, I favour Android now, and I won't go back. But I can appreciate what Apple did for the market. I personally feel that's a better way to take a view, then degenerate in to fanboyism.
