I switched back to iPhone after being a previous owner to the M8, 5s, and S4. I could not be happier honestly. As much as I love Android, I hate my experience with Samsung phones. I was hoping the S6 would change my mind, but now I am convinced I'll never buy Samsung again.

I will most likely stick with Apple from now on unless HTC releases a good phone and Google can fix the Android problems. And that probably won't happen till M at the earliest meaning late this year nor early next year for current S6 owners.

"Copying the iPhone" really isn't the issue with the S6 for me. It's more so a combination of software issues from Google, Samsung, and even T-Mobile(who still seems to be clueless about cell stand by despite my many calls). The hardware itself destroys the iPhone in pretty much every aspect. Unless you consider things like Wireless charging and a 4K displaying "copying" iPhone.

The sad truth is that Samsung would have been far better off sticking with something closer to the S5 than the S6. I understand that many of you will laugh at that, but the fact is that what set Samsung apart from Apple was the removable battery and SD card. Let's be real, no other company has proven able to compete with Apple by creating an iPhone-like device. But what Samsung and other Android phone manufacturers had done well is present consumers a meaningful alternative. Go back to manufacturing smartphone alternatives to the iPhone and forget about trying to create an iPhone under the Samsung brand.

I tend to agree. The look and feel of the galaxy S series were often complained about and Samsung updated it finally. That was a positive move. TW was often complained about needing to be scaled down and they did so. The camera is a massive improvement. Sound quality is good. Display is outstanding. Where they failed to raise standards was in battery life. And yes, there are software issues on the S6 but we haven't been able to lay the blame decisively on Samsung's shoulders for that. But copying the iPhone isn't the cause of any issues.

If it's at all possible for a significant firmware update to battle the battery woes in the very near future, I can't think of anything that would cause me to even consider another Android phone in existence so far.

Battery was an issue for me. I'm very thankful to erasat who has helped myself and many people try to improve their battery life, but I've never been as lucky as some others who've gotten 5+ hours of SOT. I got like 2 or 3 at the most :( and with the 5.1.1 update, I kept dealing with cell stand for some reason. But yeah this isn't exclusively a Samsung issue. Google played a big role in it for me. That's why I just decided to jump back to iOS for the time being.

I have all Samsung phones from S2 through to S6. I have an iPhone 6 plus which is my iOS device and it's way way way better than any of the Sammy stuff. Period!

I agree with you. I kept my iPhone six plus when I got my Samsung s6 and it is better in every single way except for the size. I'm really noticing the size difference switching between the six plus and the s6 on a daily basis. It gives me painful muscle cramps in my hands. Now if apple could get a device with the battery life of the six plus and the smaller size...

The smaller size is keeping me using my S6 more than I probably would otherwise

I had an iPhone 4, 5 and 5c, all in the time span of 5 years. I really enjoyed the phone and had no real issues. But I was tired of my 5c this June, and I really wanted to try something different, break out of the apple mold. I looked at the selection of phones on the market and fell in love with the Samsung Galaxy. It's like the android version of the iPhone but much better. It's fluidity, compatibility and overall functionality are truly fantastic. I love how user friendly it is, and I don't think i'm going back to Apple any time soon. I also got the 32 gb gold version. I wanted white, but I realized I don't see alot with the gold and wanted to stand out a bit.

Don't do it! The last 2 times I got a new phone, I regretted not switching from iPhone to Samsung. Well, this time I did and I completely regret it. A few of my issue so far:
1. Battery life is a joke
2. Hyperlinks in emails don't work. Most times, nothing happens when I tap them but when the phone does acknowledge my tap, it reads tracking numbers as phone numbers no matter how many digits
3. GPS constantly searching but never locating
4. At least a dozen times a day, wifi signal lost when phone is sitting on my desk not moving
5. Also at least a dozen times a day, I get a notification "unable to log in" on my email account
6. Then, last weekend the screen just started staying on ALL THE TIME. When I turn it off, it comes on again if I get a notification and stays on until I turn it off. Very irritating at night.

These issues all gradually came about of course after the 14 day period when I could return it and now I can get absolutley no support from Samsung or Best Buy where I got it.

Did you try a factory reset?

I switched from iPhone 6 to Galaxy s6 edge. I hate it.
Reasons? app store. downloads from network even when I am on wifi.
I much rather stay with apple products... they seem to be more secure and use less data and power
Twice now the phone decided all on its own to restore from factory. Lost pictures, lost newer contacts, lost everything that didn't get backed up to the cloud or verizon.

The ONLY thing I liked over the iPhone is the camera. I am now actively trying to trade this thing off for another iPhone or wait a couple months to see the new iPhone 6s or 7

I'm sorry to see you with these troubles. They may be addressed with 5.1 whenever it comes. The next iPhone may resolve whatever issues that made you want to leave too.

I switched from the iPhone 5s and my experience has been mixed. Right off the bat, battery life on my 5s wasn't great but thats because I had it for almost two years and it was decent at the beginning, but battery life on this thing is absolutely atrocious. I have to tweak everything which is a pain and shouldn't have to do, and I still struggle to get a full day usage. Another problem I've had is memory management and the aggressive closing of apps in the background, I cannot understand how this is possible with 3GB of Ram, it is simply mind boggling. I owned an iPod Touch with 500MB of Ram that performed far better on memory management than this. On to more positive feedback and I haven't really noticed any lag whatsoever, except on power-saver where the frame rate is noticeably lower, but that is to expected. The screen, the camera, the size and the build quality are excellent. But for such an expensive phone, this is not good enough.

I switched from iPhone 6 to the Galaxy S6 Active and I love it so far, after almost 2 weeks. The battery life is great on the Active, and I love how you can customize the phone to your liking. I love playing around with different themes. That's pretty cool. I have had minimal lag, not enough to even mention. The phone works fluidly, and is fast and responsive. I've noticed in this thread different mentions about the difference between iOS apps and android apps. The apps that I use work just as well and look just as good on android as they did in iOS. I have nothing against Apple, I've had the last few devices that came out. I just got bored. You can't do much of anything to customize the phone, and the "widgets" they have introduced are a joke really compared to the android widgets, and the android notification system is great. I still have my iPhone 6, but with my experience so far with my S6 Active, I see myself staying with android for a long time to come!

Re: Who switched from iPhone to Samsung Galaxy S6/S6 Edges

I personally switched from iPhone to android and hate it. The android system on the s6 stinks. My phone crashes all the time. The thumb print never works. Or if it does work my phone will not unlock until I attempt multiple times. My phone restarts all the time. The system crashes way to much and is a slower phone than the s6.

I did. I did not like the iPhone OS. It just did not work for me. It is simple but limits things you can do.

I did, but switched back. Believe it or not I think I made the wrong decision on purchase by going for the Edge.
After swapping back, I went to my local store and still look at the Samsung. This time I picked up a regular S6 and new then I'd made the wrong choice with the Edge.
Also a wrong choice for me was Gold, the fingerprints were so annoying. Again in the store I picked up a white device and so refreshing, the finger prints not half as bad,
The android operating system I believe could be better than iOS, the notifications certainly are. Again a problem with the Edge, install widgets and they don't wrap around the screen, this is especially annoying when using Nova etc.
The apps themselves, well personally I love social networks and both Facebook and Twitter on android is a far cry from on iOS. Also I like to use Tweetbot 3, again the closest thing on Android say Talon a far cry from it.
Not as many games, although the ones I would use were all there.
Personal preference at the end of the day, all I would say is try the phones pre purchase and don't do as I did and get off the net.
