Who tried S3 and prefers EVO LTE?

Unfunded and forced health care affects us all. :p

Back to phones....

I was at the Sprint store yesterday and could easily see the pixelation on the S3. As much as I prefer the Wolfson DAC and 2GB, I can't look at that screen. The EVO looked much better. A CM9 ROM will fix software issues.

Also the EVO looks like it has stronger radios... Not surprised.

Also, not sure 2GB is even necessary, even the new Nexus 7 tablet only has 1GB.

Your right! I can't get past the screen on the S3 neither. We all stare at the screen 95% of the time while we are using it.

A software fix will fix the Evo. I've had the Evo for a month now and love it. The screen is amazing!

I played with both today and agree that the evo screen looks far superior to the s3. I did think the s3 seemed quicker in the store but that could be because the evo has been there for a month constantly being played with.

I think I may go with the evo.

Don't judge a phone's outright performance in the store, especially ones that have been on display and abused for days or weeks.

I went into a sprint store today and did an A/B comparison with the GS3.

First impressions:
1. Build: the GS3 was light and plastic-y. The EVO has more heft to it. Not heavy by any means; in the hand it just feels like a piece of premium hardware, where the GS3 does not.
2. General responsiveness seemed about even.
3. Display: here's where the EVO absolutely trounced the GS3, it wasn't even close. The colors on the GS3 are way over-saturated and artificial. Plus there's a bluish tint over everything that just annoyed me looking side by side with the EVO. Even with the brightness at 100% on both phones, the GS3 came nowhere near the brilliance of the EVO and seemed incapable of producing pure whites. I made my comparison using mostly Flipboard, which has a lot of black text against white backgrounds. Reading on the EVO was just so much easier on the eyes. Crisp text on a pure white background without that stupid bluish tint. I can't believe people even consider the two displays in the same league after seeing them side by side.

The EVO has its well-documented issues, but they're correctable. There's just no correcting the cheap build and poor display on the GS3. My initial decision to go with the EVO has been confirmed and I will never look back.

Agree 100% ...

Interesting. Where did you read this? I only ask because I had a One X for a while and I was shocked when I got the SIII and discovered how good the camera was. It takes pictures that have a real sense of depth to them. Colors are also far less saturated than I was expecting. I do tv calibration on the side so I know a little something about white balance, color saturation, black level, etc. My girlfriend had a high end DSLR, and while the GSIII can't begin to sniff the pictures that thing takes, the pictures are so good in my view that I would say it it is the best thing about this phone. Get back to me if you can as I am very interested in any information.

Most camera reviews between the HTC EVO LTE / One X and the SGS3 have showed the HTC's to have overall better picture quality / camera app while the SGS3 to performs slightly better in low light situations. I tried both phones and prefer the EVO's camera quality over the SGS3.

G3 low light performance does not include when flash is used. With flash, you get blue pictures, basically unusable. Having both phones, the htc evo lte is better.

this is an EVO LTE board, of course everybody is going to be biased and agree the LTE wins lol *shakes head**

Actually, you are incorrect. Many people on the forum will be blindly biased. But many of us are not that shallow.

duely noted. *nods** I'd agree with that, I am a fan of both phones and I do Enjoy the members in this board. Please excuse my harsh reply.

I tried both at the sprint store and I like the screen on the EVO better. I also thought sense was a more refined experience than touchwiz.

However, both phones are very nice and I think I would of be happy with either.

Loving my EVO LTE.

The only way I could be happy with the GS3 is if I had never used the EVO.

I totally agree. Despite all the glitches, the Evolte set the bar pretty high. I was also never a fan of stock browsers, but I will admit that I love the stock browser sense 4.0.

Now I just wish they would fix their glitches.
