Who wants an Evo but isn't eligible for an upgrade?

Who wants it and isn't eligible?

My upgrade is July 1st but I'm not going to wait. I'll be paying full retail. I asked for an early upgrade and they declined. However, they agreed to credit my account for the difference between what I pay full retail and the $199 price so it all worked out in the end. I actually prefer it that way because now I'll still have my upgrade to use anytime I want to.

Welp, the EVO has finally arrived... and I'm so envious of those that have one. I wish I could get Sprint to bump up my upgrade date. :(

I'm not due for an upgrade till july but imma get it anyway. I'm gonna charge it to my account like I did with the hero and pay it off little by little...

I'm gonna save my upgrade just in case something awesome-er comes later on (wp7 maybe?) And have this monster as well

Sprint allows you to charge an equipment purchase to your account? I didn't think they did that.

I went to the store and played with one... its awesome. :(

I'm gonna stop at the Sprint store after work and play with one too. It's gonna suck leaving the store without one. I already feel your pain :(

Yup, but you need to find out the spending limit on your account.
For example, if your limit is $300, and you're paying full pop for the EVO, then you'd still have to fork out an additional $149.99 + taxes at the store.

Not eligible so bought it outright. Of course, this didn't affect my contract so I can upgrade again in 6 months. :-)

Same here! My upgrade is still about 10 months away so I just bought it outright. When the new EVO Dual Core comes out I will be ready for an upgrade.

Ok....I did get that option, to charge to my account. However, based on another posting on here, I started a chat with a rep to see if I could get a credit to my account for at least the rebate amount.

That was a no go. Then I wanted to make sure that since I was going to pay full price for the phone that I would still be eligible for my Premier upgrade in August. The chat rep insisted that by upgrading early I was changing the dates of my contract and that I started back at day one as far as an upgrade.

This can't be correct. If They are adding time to my contract, why would I agree to pay full price?

That is incorrect. Paying full price does not affect your contract. Did they print out a new contract and have you sign it? I bought mine outright and didn't have any contract updates. Just a switch of device from old to EVO.

No...this was all online.

Yeah, that's TOTALLY wrong. I would call Acct. Services and VERIFY that your upgrade eligibility date didn't change. If it did for whatever reason... I would raise he** :p

I just called Sprint and spoke to a rep. They said that they had changed my upgrade eligibility to June 17th. It's however, not showing up on the site. Perhaps it takes a little while to show up, or it's just a note on the account.
