Who will be getting the S4 from Google and selling Nexus4

I will wait to see how it turns out. If the S4 GE kick serious you know what, I will sell my N4 and pick it up! Gotta have something to tease the Nexus faithful with! Diggin my ATT 32 GB S4 model right now. Reminds me of the nexus 4 in form factor. Screen, camera, LTE, storage both internal and SD card are all pluses. Minus is the BLOAT! My goodness, Samsung has gone hogwild on the BLOAT! Disabled most of it and still have 22 GB! Happy camper here! I have almost every wiz bang feature turned off so I might be up for the S4 GE!

Most of that is the carrier not Samsung. Verizon is downright evil about that. And they do NOT care if you don't like it.

Not really; all the S Apps, the overloaded excessiveness of TW, etc are Samsung.

I had a Nexus 4 and loved it. I still do, but I had to sell it.
The reason is, while on a business trip and always keeping the phone in a case, the back glass shuttered into pieces. The phone didn't even drop once... Glass all over.
Add very poor battery life and un replaceable battery and the result is less than optimal.
It bothered me so much to have such a nice phone... but so unfunctional.. I couldn't keep it.
Funny thing is I still love it mostly because of the Google experience.
I guess the s4 will be my next "Nexus".

You obviously had a defective unit. My N4 is very durable and has great battery life. Why didn't you get yours replaced?

If the S4 Active came with Vanilla android (and no physical buttons) i will probably consider it. I think it looks nice.

When the back glass shuttered the way it did, it's not a defective unit, it's a defective phone design.
It was in a case and it wasn't dropped.
Just imagine if it would have happened before the warranty was over!
I got a replacement and sold it, at least I made almost my money back.

Ps and everyone has battery issues as well. Only 20-30% of owners are happy with the battery.

When less than 1% of N4s have been shattered and less than 1% of those were shattered without dropping, it's a defective unit.

Otherwise, please explain to me how I dropped my N4 four times from waist level onto hardwood or concrete with no protection and have no signs of damage.

Both arguments are anecdotal and may not be representative of the statistical norm. Sometimes stuff falls and breaks and sometimes they fall and show no damage at all. Glass is more susceptible to temperature fluctuation and the presence of moisture than many other materials used to make phones, but the occurrences of spontaneous shattering are very rare.

Yes, correct. Everyone. Not just Nexus owners.
My house has two iPhone 4S users and the battery is supposed to kick any Android's ****, but neither of them makes it from wake to bed without having to charge in the middle.

I have not counted them but alot are Samsung too. Samsung apps not att.

No way. The S4 GE isn't that much better than the N4, and it's twice the price. Don't know how much you've been looking around, but there are lots of quality cases for the N4.

Some reasons would be,more internal memory,sd card, better screen, longer battery life, bigger screen, removable battery, led indicator. Don't know about anyone else but for the right price the s4 sounds like it could be better than n4. But hey, that's just an opinion.

Bigger screen by .29 inches and sd card are correct and removable battery; memory and led are incorrect, the Nexus 4 has an LED indicator and has the exact same internal memory; not sure about battery life, has this been evaluated on the S4GE? It does have a larger battery, but how do we know how the screen on and standby times compare? For the right price, of course it could be a better deal. It'd just have to be less than $199, which is the price most people would pay for the standard edition, which they can flip to AOSP and back to TouchWiz (should they want any of the S4 features) at will. 3/6.

From someone who owned every single Nexus device, they are all great phones, but if you believe the specs of the s4 are not better you are in denial.
The question is are they $300 better?

They're definitely better specs. The S4 is solidly a top 5 device. But is it worth $300 more? Are they worth $1 more? To me, there are major compromises to choosing either device. I can argue that the standard TouchWiz S4 is worth as much or possibly more than the Nexus 4. I can't argue that the GE version of the S4 is worth as much as the TouchWiz S4. To me that makes the order something to the effect of TWS4 =|= N4 > GES4 < TWS4 =|= N4. I'd personally give the edge of total user experience to the N4, but some people would give that to the TWS4. Of course, what I value and despise in a device is very different than what you might, etc.

The Google S4 will be like an N4 with better hardware. I am not sure how you could reasonably say the N4 would be better. Other than the curved glass, there is nothing on the N4 that is as good or better then the Google S4 IMO. Better camera, faster CPU, better display, far more expansion, far better battery life, Additional sensors (IR)...it will have all of this in addition to everything the N4 already has.

...with the option to expand beyond that very cheaply. You can double the memoryfor $7.

not sure about battery life
It has a removable battery. You can upgrade it to whatever you want. Even the crappiest extended battery will leave Nexus 4 battery life in the dust.

According to engadget, default battery life is awesome though. Samsung Galaxy S 4 review - They are claiming 14 to 15 hours. That is certainly FAR better than my Nexus 4 can do.

Having experienced Touchwiz, I can say I in no way miss it. I think almost all the features are gimmicky and pointless and will not be used by most people.

I know lots of people with a GS3 which they got on my recommendation. With a few exceptions, they all love their phones. But none of them uses any Touchwiz-specific features. Most of them installed Launchers to get rid of that ugly desktop.
