Who's active with a LG G6?

Still got my G6, as a backup phone. Decided to sell my Samsung S8+ on eBay and my daily is my iPhone 7 Plus. Much easier to stick with iPhone when my wife and kids all on iPhones

But my G6 is my backup phone and found a great use for it Android does emulation way better than iphones.

Still on my G6, been about 3 months. Pretty happy with it overall and don't have to many issues. Biggest complaint is GBoard wants to glide sometimes when I'm typing with my thumbs since the last OS update. It did not do it before, cleared cache too with no luck. So I turned off glide typing for now. Hoping next update fixes it.

I went to best buy and looked at pixel 2's today in case there's a black friday deal I can't resist. Thought I might be in for the smaller P2 but I can't do those bezels after having this G6. Good grief is there a lot of bezel, and it looks even worse next to the G6. The P2XL is a bit big for my taste, plus, to expensive for me. So I nipped that urge in the butt today lol. Just didn't like them enough to justify it.

I did really like the V30 though, that screen looked great, very vivid and its not much bigger than the G6 at all. Guess we'll see if there's a deal come Friday, might be worth using my Jump for a good price.

My next phone, whenever it is, hopefully in a year and a half if I can hold off, will be a OnePlus phone. Only features they miss are waterproof and wireless charging, but for the price it's understandable. If they would make a $700 dollar phone with those premiums, I would buy on launch.

To be honest though, when the G6 gets Oreo, it will be on par or close to every flagship phone out there. It's such a solid phone.

Saw that Best Buy is offering the G6 on Sprint for $120, spread over 2 years. I've recommended that to a friend at work looking to upgrade from a Galaxy S5. Would be a huge update for her!

It is a very solid phone. I think it's a very unique phone as well. LG really got the aesthetics and design language down to a T with this phone.

The only issue I've had, which I created a thread about, was a freeze up and reboot when going into NYC. It's the only place it happened and I don't go there often so I'm not worried about it.

I was in a T-mobile store a few days ago to troubleshoot my nephew's phone. My wife used the opportunity to upgrade from her S7 to the S8. I went over to the V30 and played with it. Compared it to my G6 and all. I loved it. But for the first time ever, I didn't have the urge to upgrade. I love this phone. The G6 is just about perfect for me. Just missing a stylus feature like the Note which I would really like to have, but other than that, I couldn't ask for more. It feels fantastic in the hand, it's fast, takes great pictures and the screen is beautiful.

So happy you are loving your G6! You are making me want to buy one lool! Mt absolute favourite thing about the G6 is how it feels in the hand. Its 5.7" and my hands are small; and yet it feels perfect in them. Great screen-to-body ratio.

I only have issues with typing on this phone. And WiFi at work constantly gives me issues like disconnecting and then not being able to reconnect. I usually have to reboot my phone to get it working properly again. I'm hoping that Oreo fixes these issues. Also I constantly find myself running out of storage. I have a 32 gb class 10 card and sometimes can be unreliable in recording video directly to it. I would have loved having 64gb internal storage. App sizes and cache eat up a lot of space.

What are your typing issues? What keyboard app are you using?

Still here ;). Been using since day one, all these new flag ships phone don't impress me.

I've read lots of G6 keyboard complaints. I only have occasional spellcheck hiccups using the stock keyboard, but I mainly swipe. I guess the actual typing experience is different.

For sure, typing versus swiping can yield different results! Glad you are enjoying LG's stock keyboard! :)

I agree, LG should make a flagship with that Stylo feature or add it to the V or G series. That would be cool, I would get it.

I've found that Gboard is a more accurate keyboard - at least for me.
I had been a long time SwiftKey user, but tried out Gboard last year, and never looked back. While I think SwiftKey still has a better prediction engine, the additional features of having Google search baked in sold me. Gboard predictions have improved as well. SwiftKey had developed some serious lag as well, and was more of a memory hog than Gboard.
