Now that Pixel 7 fold is on Google store website who's getting this? I'm so tempted to trade my beloved Pixel 7 for it. But considering Pixel 8 is only 4 months away I'm so confused

Who's getting the fold ??

I really don't think it's a good idea to buy a first generation pixel fold.
This is my feeling as well, I want to jump on it. First gen hardware from Google makes me skeptical lol.

At the same time we have 4 generations of folding phones available to consumers. There are plenty of designs and design failures to learn from on the market as well.

I am assuming it has the tensor 2 and if that's the case, I am most definitely out. I just feel like to get the most out of this design you need the best soc to back it up. The tensor is not there yet honestly, it's close.

Pixel Fold ? That isn't on the USA website....Where are you seeing it ?

Am not impressed with tensor2. And fold with a battery size smaller than P7Pro and with the bigger screen, it's going to be a nightmare.

I've not been following as foldables don't appeal to me (at the moment), but the question for me is: will Google be making software tweaks/adjustments to take advantage of the extra screen real estate?

I've not used a foldable device (yet?? ) so I have no baseline comparable; but I do know Samsung and I have to imagine they've got all sorts of software goodies exclusive to their foldable devices. A foldable Pixel that runs the same exact software as my Pixel 7 Pro just doesn't sound like something that's needed.

Until they make a screen that I cannot damage with my fingernail and lower the price to the same as a slab (which is already overpriced) NO WAY I will ever get any foldable from any OEM.

Foldables aren't for me, but I'll admire them from afar.

I'll also point out that Google did a great job with the Pixel Watch -- it's been extremely smooth and problem free for me. So they don't always mess up their 1st gens!

NOt too much risk with the pixel watch... It's a 2018 Samsung watch with extra RAM lol. Although from what I've heard the battery life isn't as good as the old Galaxy watch.

I always like the nexus / pixel phones.
But dislike any of the foldables , just not for me.
I feel the same. I have a 10" tablet when I want a really big screen, and I just wouldn't care for opening and closing a phone frequently. I didn't even like flip dumb phones.

Nope. My right front pocket already has too much of a bulge with my wallet and slab P6P. Why would I want a phone that's twice as thick when in my pocket? Not to mention potential screen issues over the long term (where it folds) and crazy high price.
I'm in for the P8P if it's enough of an upgrade over my 6.
