Who's going to buy a Galaxy S5?

I will not, I currently own the GS3 and I swear this is my last Samsung phone, unless rumors are true that it will have a new UI, I hate the current UI, will probably go with the HTC M8.

Install Nova, Apex or any other launcher and call it a day :-). Although that's the beauty of Android, the stock UI should be somewhat decent and not require users to remove it from the device to enjoy a high quality device.

I personally think it would be good to see a change. But the bottom line is that the numbers speak louder than words and if Samsung continues to push devices in large quantities there really isn't a need for much change.

I can't unequivocally state one way or the other, but if I'm able to get a "hand's on" and a chance to play, well, who knows??

I plan on putting a different launcher on the my GS5 so even if the magazine UI which would be useless on an smartphone (at least somewhat useful on a tablet) so it won't impact me too much.

It's between the S5 and the new HTC One for me. Camera and battery life will likely be the deciding factors for me. 📷🔋

That's what it came down to for me with the S4 and HTC One. The S4 won both by a considerable amount :)
I'm expecting the camera to still be a lot better on the S5, but battery life should be more than enough on both

I have the S4 and going to take a wait and see approach on the S5 vs Note 4 later on in the year. Not sure if I will stick with Samsung. I was considering buying a Moto down the line but now that Google sold them off not so sure about it.

My wife's HTC One button placement has annoyed me enough that I won't consider them until see how the M8 is going to be set up.

Also I don't see any true technological advantages in upcoming phones. Sure the phone is faster better camera but it really isn't noticeable. The Note 3 doesn't scream out vs my S4 for me except on screen size.

Maybe if the S5 is foldable or something new and different that would be a bigger turning point.

I tell you all something....the Note line is a superior device for a College student. Heck, any student! Having your classes textbooks on PDF is the BEST!! I wish I could of had one when I had my Epic 4G.

We'll know what the S5 will be rocking pretty soon - hopefully the HTC One 2 (M8) won't be far behind so that everyone looking to upgrade soon get's a look at two good devices.

Nope. No android devices are approved with my employers (bank) BYOD policy. BlackBerry 10 and iOS 6+ devices.

For whatever reason I don't even consider HTC an option. They don't seem to have any interesting features in their devices, non removable batteries, could care less about their build quality because I use a case. They need to blow me out of the water personally.

What didn't you like about the S4? Rather, what do you want to see the S5 do differently?

Touchwiz mainly. It was so laggy just really turned me off to the phone. If they refine touchwiz I would be ok with it looking similar to s4. Oh and go with the faux leather if anything, not glossy plastic

Possibly the HTC One. Not looking to have anything with a bigger footprint than the S4. It is a comfortable size in my hand. My first intro to Android was a tablet a year ago and I will definitely stay with Android. I am also with big red so that will tend to sway me a bit. Love AC as it gives a great board of opinions from novices to knowledgeable folks. I am one that researches stuff way deep.

Well the HTC was larger than the s4 footprint size wise and if rumors are true of the one getting a larger screen, its going to be even larger.

From what I've read and understand about the Google and Samsung 10 year deal.....one of the things that Google wants Samsung to stop doing is the heavy overlays on Android OS with TW so Samsung will 'POSSIBLY' (more than likely and I use the term loosely) be easing up on completely changing Android with TW. We may be possibly seeing a TW that is much closer to vanilla Android. I can't wait to see it myself!

I have only owned one HTC device (Hero) and found it to be an enjoyable experience at the time. I do agree that having a removable battery is something I would like to see on an upcoming device. Although all other features are "OK" (for me), I do agree that more can still be integrated to make it a "wow" device and compete with what other OEMs are doing.
