Who's seriously considering the V30?

I was referring to the DAC. On the V20 the US models didn't come with B&O tuning. The pre-order included their headphones. I'm hoping for Google Daydream included.
Heard and read on the internet that the dac would be the same across all models everywhere. Win.

Everyone should wait a month or two for several reasons. One is that the V30 will probably be half price in a month or two like the G6 was. The second is that the Pixel XL 2 is likely to have the Snapdragon 836 instead of 835.
Yeah but no headphone jack :(

Will strongly consider it, but close to the end of the year. The 'ol Moto DT2 still has a lot of life left. I can be choosy in picking my time to upgrade.

I was going to return to the Note family but I compared the cameras to my V20 and their wide angle wasn't... I have come to like the wide angle camera on the V20. The more I read and view has me wanting the V30, even with the fact I'm mad at LG.
Also I like the bigger screen.

Lateck,

Lateck,

It is weird to me that people like the wide angle lens. I never have the problem of being too close with a smartphone camera or needing to fit more into an image. My problem is being too far away to get good shots. Like trying to take pictures of wild animals that run off or fly away if you get too close.

It's a contender or at least it will be when it actually becomes available.

I'm still considering the V30, but in my country it will take 2 months until it's available. Additionally to that bummer, there are several aspects I dislike about the device:

- wide angle camera with less resolution than the main camera, no autofocus, no optical image stabilization, no compatibility to the new Cine Modes of the V30
- front facing camera with very low resolution
- ugly antenna bands very visible
- USB C 2.0 instead of 3.1
- QC 3.0 instead of 4.0

It's still a nice device, but for 900 bucks I can expect a more polished device. To save 50 cent by using USB 2.0 instead of 3.1 is a shame at this price point and the wide angle camera deserves definitely more love.

The alternative for me will be the Huawei Mate 10. Right after the Mate 10s launch the V30 will reach the market, so I'll decide between those two devices then.

I will get me and my wife one. I am currently using an S8+ and this phone pretty much ticks all the boxes for me that drives me crazy with Sammy.

Finger Print Sensor location
Size (a tad bit smaller height wise)
NO BIXBY!!!!!!! (hate that crap)
Slightly less curved front screen
600mhz spectrum compatible

It will tide me over till the Mate 10 drops. Unless it comes before the V30 does but usually Huawei waits a bit before a US launch. We will see.

Agreed, I'm waiting for the mate 10 too , i think it will be the best device of the year and underrated like mate 9

The Mate 9 was a monster. I don't even know why I sold mine. I have missed it ever since. Live and learn I guess.

Too late in the game to go back to it when the 10 is right around the corner...

True, it's way too impressive even against the likes of sammy and v30 nothing can rival it tbh.
I hoped LG put at least 4000mah with 13 mp selfie, 6gb ram and with current package they would have a winner

Have you ever taken group shots indoors? Many photos I take are indoor spur of the moment shots. For long range I have a different camera....
I have been the savior at birthday parties and such. :-)

Once the price comes down, I'm in. The rollout of the 600 bands for t-mobile is one of the drivers. Hope my V10 lasts until the price drops.

Besides the dac, what will the LG have the others don't?

Mostly on the camera side. The V series has some serious manual controls for both still and video, and now has the option to shoot video in Log format for greater editing and the like. It has the wide angle lens that is supposed to be even better than the V20/G6, and those were pretty good.

I'm looking forward to this phone for sure.
