Who's swapping for the 3G N7?

I tether it already to my 3g phone. I don't want to pay for a second contract and I don't want to pay more for the device.

By the way, I am pretty sure that the 3g version will be based on GSM, and sim, unlocked, just like the galaxy nexus on the play store.

There's a good chance I will switch to 3G - I live in Poland, I get 4-6 mbit/s HSPA pretty much everywhere, and tethering kills phone's battery too fast. Although now I switched from wifi tethering to bluetooth and it's fast enough while lasting good 10 hours of usage. So not entirely sure.

Unless the 3G service is free, as with the Kindle (even if said free service is provided by AT&T...ick!), the answer is "no way". Of course, being an Android tablet, and not just an E-reader, we already know the 3G service wouldn't be free. Anyway, unless one has unlimited data (ie. Sprint), you already have one, and possibly two, thing(s) going against you. First is the additional cost of adding an additional device to your account. Second, unless you're on Verizon's or AT&T's "share everything" plans, you have to pay (a high price) for a data-only plan. Even if you do have unlimited data, you'll still have the additional cost of an additional device. Being on a "share everything" plan, I can tether my N7 to my phone without any additional costs involved. Besides, the majority of the time, my N7 is connected via WiFi, be it my home network, secured networks at certain other places I go, or certain public (such as Starbucks, public library, etc) places I might frequent. Obviously, I have no want/need for a 3G N7, and I think most others will agree.

Nah. If it had been available when I bought my current N7, I still would have gone WiFi only. 3G on Sprint is too slow for any real media usage, and I've got WiFi almost anywhere. If I have to get to something, I'll do it on my EVO 4G LTE. I dont tether because I don't need to. Now if they had a N7 with a microSD slot, that would be an entirely different story!

How much will the Nexus 3G cost?
I will probably stick to wifi and tether it to my TMobile my Touch 4G when wifi is not available.
Since I got my Nexus 7, I am not anymore interested in upgrading my phone to the Galaxy S3. I feel like the Nexus is an extension of my phone after all the apps were synchronized.
I don't want to spend too much money.

Wi-fi is is readily available everywhere I use my Nexus 7 there is no need for a 3g model for me. I tether to my GNex if I really need connectivity. But really I cant remeber the last time I needed it. All the coffee shops and places I go with my N7 have wi-fi.

tether from my Nexus phone to Nexus 7... why pay extra for 3g data when you can do it for free.
but i understand people needing the 3G.. but i dont think its for me.

+1. I am not giving VZW another penny! They take enough of my money as it is.

I honestly don't understand why someone would get a 3g/4g any non phone device.

I know with the unlimited plans, you can't tether and you will lose them. But the separate tablet plans are around $30 per month no? Is it really worth it over plain tethering?

Maybe they're going the dumbphone + tablet route instead of carrying smartphone and a tablet.

Count me in. :). I love the nexus 7 that I have, but it is virtually useless without WiFi. I have problems with it at home, but it is just useless away from home. Sorry, Google, NVIDIA, ASUS, and others.

Having a cellular-enabled Nexus 7 makes Google Now much, much more compelling, IMO.
