Who's switching from iPhone 6 /6s/plus to s7 edge

Got a 6S Plus on my desk here.. putting edge through paces...
As everyone here has said already... battery, battery, BATTERY!
Why cant Android/Samsung get this right?

:(

I am not your typical everyday user as I have 7-8 smartphones which I keep switching between all the time. However in all the time, iPhone 5, 5S, 6 Plus, 6s Plus has been my daily driver and twice a Samsung phone has come close to replacing the iPhones - Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

I sort of knew what I was getting into with the S7 Edge. I wouldn't have bought the Edge if they didn't increase the battery capacity.

Yes, the iPhone 6S Plus has pretty good battery especially with the rate of drop while playing media much lesser than an Android phone but the Galaxy S7 Edge is no slouch either. I wake up, use the strava app to go cycling or the Spotify while at gym with Bluetooth headphones(jaybirds if you have to know). I then use it regularly to check mail, work email, attachments(office 365), WhatsApp, FB, Instagram, maps to get around for work, played a little asphalt in the train etc., Yesterday by the time I finished I was left with 32% battery with about 5 and half hours SOT. Yes, I topped it up 2-3% a couple of times I connected it to my car's android play system to get to gym and back but I still thought it was pretty good considering location was turned on, screen brightness was at 50% auto, power saving turned off and connected to my gear S2 all the time.

Yes, Apple iP 6S is pretty good but this phone is the first phone in ages that looks like it has the potential to become my daily driver.

Others on here may be disappointed probably because they don't know what the other Android phones are like but right now, the edge looks like the king of Android Phones to me.

Advantages of the Galaxy S7 Edge over the iPhone 6S Plus:
1. Screen - Love the amoled panel.
2. Android - I don't need to expand on this - customisation, google apps blah blah
3. Camera - I can't help but feel Apple just dropped the ball on their 6S camera. My wife's 6 Plus takes much better pictures than my 6S Plus. Edge is in a different league altogether.
4. Expandable storage.
5. Design - I have the black onyx and IMHO the edge is much much better looking than a 6S.
6. Size - I can't believe that the edge packs the same screen real estate in a smaller package and therefore makes it easier to handle.
7. Edge features - I actually use this feature all the time and it is a relief to be able to see the most important activities with just a swipe of the edge(calendar), or news or access a quick contact or quick apps. Love this feature.
8. Fingerprints - Samsung now supports native marshmallow fingerprinting and its slower than an iPhone. I can't count the number of times I've cursed when I've pressed the home button on only to see all my notifications go away. I'd resorted to using my fingernails to wake the screen up on the iP6+.
9. Always on Display : Removes the need to switch screen on to get time/calendar.(plus looks cool me thinks).

P.S - I have a Moto X Pure, Lenovo K3 Note dual sim(don't ask me why I bought it), Note 5, Windows 640, Blackberry Classic, iPhone 6S Plus and of course the Edge. In the past year, I have also owned the S6, Moto X 2nd Ed, Nexus 6P, Sony Z3.

I wake up at 6:30, go to the gym where I use my iphone 6s plus to play music via bluetooth. I then go to work till 5pm and go to bed at 10:30pm with about 15-20% battery life on the iphone and thats with a good amount of usage. Don't believe the s7e will beat that. Like people have said the iphone's standby time is amazing.

Just depends on usage really. I've been able to kill any phone before lunch. Just depends on the day :).

I am in EXACTLY the same position with my usage. It's almost like your life reflects mine. And I still can't make my mind up either.

Battery life between the 6S Plus and the S7 EDGE has been pretty much exactly the same. Easily get 1.5 days out of it either one. At first I thought I'd probably keep the 6S Plus, but after a week with the Samsung, I'm selling it. There isn't a single thing the iPhone does better than the Samsung in my opinion. I have nothing against Apple and I'll definitely see what they come out with later this year, but the 6S Plus is a dinosaur of a phone. Heavy, huge and the OS is somewhat boring.

Re: Switch to Apple from android

Not trying to convince anyone of anything, mate. Just putting out my honest opinion.

You couldn't pay me enough to switch to apple. Why would we want to downgrade?? Their newest line of a phone would be like going down 3 models on a galaxy. My s3 from 4 years ago had the same MP camera that the new iPhone 6 has! Forget that!!

I went from iPhone 6 Plus to Samsung Galaxy Note Edge to Microsoft Lumia 950 XL to S7 Edge. It is still a bit early for the final verdict but so far I think the S7 Edge is the best phone I have ever owned.

Oh yeah....I also have 160gb total of memory space in my phone right now with the option to go up to 200. Another thing iPhone is incapable of doing....

Re: Switch to Apple from android

The 6s has a 12 MP camera. Get your facts straight. so "their newest line of phones" isn't the 6. Get your facts straight. And any phone enthusiast knows that it's not about the megapixel it's about the sensor. iSight is better than isocell

Oh I'm sorry...they finally moved up to a 12mp then. It's about time. Now if only they work on the memory issue. Also, we're not stuck to iTunes and having to pay for music downloads with android.

I went from Apple 6 to Galaxy 7 edge, the software is so much advanced from Apple, can't believe how good a phone it is. Apple better get a grip, or there going to loose the market share!!!

I hope this will be a wake up call for Apple and hope they do loose market share for one simple reason, Samsung can give us so much more that consumers want, and Apple is now dragging its feet. SD card slot is simple to introduce and the wide bezel of the 6S or 6S + is making the size way more than it should is a real disappointment. Samsung has a winner on their hands, and Apple should wake up. Has nothing to do with the spec war, but what we consumers want. This is why I left the 6S Plus behind and gone Samsung. Only darn thing disappointing with the Samsung edge is find a good screen protector.

I switched from the iPhone 6+ to the S7 Edge and plan to stay with the S7. Nothing wrong with the iPhone I just wanted something different for a while and the S7 Edge seemed like a good choice.

Me! I've been a huge apple fanatic for a number of years (have an iPhone, MacBook, iPad, Apple Watch & Apple TV) and have tried different android phones in the past but have always gone back to iPhone after a few weeks.

I recently visited the newly opened Samsung Store in Milton Keynes and the guy there completely sold me the S7 edge as well as the Tab S2 and the Gear S2. I didn't buy it there and then but have just sold my iPhone 6 on eBay and will be taking out the Blue Bag Day offer tomorrow on the S7 edge and will be selling my Apple Watch and buying the Gear s2. I'm also contemplating selling my iPad Air and getting the Tab S2 as it is just a gorgeous device and so light!

So yeah I'm pretty much a convert to the world of Samsung and am super excited to the get the Edge and the VR headset!

I've just found Apple a bit boring in the last year or so and not very innovative, whereas Samsung seems to have gone the other way which is clear to see. And I NEVER thought I would EVER say that!

But yeah am really looking forward to getting this phone and the Gear S2 :)

I'd keep the iPad. I had the tab s2 and went back to my iPad.
