Who's switching from iPhone 6 /6s/plus to s7 edge

I went from Apple 6 to Galaxy 7 edge, the software is so much advanced from Apple, can't believe how good a phone it is. Apple better get a grip, or there going to loose the market share!!!

It's very customisable, once I got Nova Prime Launcher I was seriously blown away by what could be achieved. Then I replaced Samsung's apps and keyboard with Googles, then changed theme in Samsung theme store and it's looking so awesome.

I just switched from a 6s Plus. While there are some things I miss about the iPhone overall I'm satisfied with the switch. I got spoiled by the battery life of the 6s Plus but so far I'm really pleased with the Edge's battery life so far.

One disappointment though is the camera. I still think my 6s Plus still takes better low light photos and videos. But I think the screen is much nicer, I can't believe they are both 5.5 inch phones because the Plus is a giant next to the Edge.

Hello all, this is my first post and I've just made the jump from the iPhone 6 to the S7 Edge which is my first ever Android handset and I'm enjoying it so far.
Prior to this I had the iPhone 4/4S/5/5S and then the 6. Before all those I was a full on Nokian, so this now is a new chapter of my geekiness.

Loving my Edge, but will give it another week before I sell my 6s Plus. I like to mix things up, so tend to keep a couple phone options around. But the Edge has been an absolute joy for the 4 days I've had it. The display just surpasses the iPhone in every way. Add customization, camera, and the most beautiful design I've seen on a phone, and the Edge is hard to resist. There are a few things I do miss about iPhone, but probably not enough to keep it as my daily driver.

Not switching from an iPhone, as I really have 0 affinity for Apple products in general, but I'm a big Windows Phone/Windows 10 Mobile fan. I find the operating system generally smoother, more modern, and more snappy than any other on the market. However, marketing and pop culture infiltration are paramount in the smartphone wars, and due to Microsoft's horrible effort in that department... the app support just isn't there. And ever since Nokia left the picture, the hardware has been uninspiring. I don't like anything about the iPhone, personally... hardware and software included.

I switch back and forth between Lumia devices, my S7 Edge and Xperia Z5 Premium. Getting a bit difficult supporting my smartphone addiction financially lol, so I'll probably be selling the Xperia Z5 Premium. I love it, and it's gorgeous in chrome, but this S7 Edge is next level. Best display I've ever seen on a smartphone, and that includes the Xperia's 4K screen. Samsung has really stepped up their game on the hardware end as well. The S7 Edge is a beauty. Can't even bring myself to put a case on it (didn't with my Xperia Z5 Premium or Nokia Lumias either).

Just got the S7E, love the device and the experience so far. But for me to make it my primary the number one priority is migrating the WhatsApp chat history/backup from the iPhone. I've looked online and haven't found a solution.

WhatsApp on the iPhone backups to iCloud and as far as I know there is no way to restore that backup on the S7E.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers.

Same. Both have pros and cons. It really depends on the battery life for me. Really the standby time. I realize apple's standby time is hard to beat but anything semi equivalent to it would be a plus.

Plus I want the freedom to change depending on my mode for the day. Plus I miss the camera, camera gallery (hate camera roll), and the ability to download whatever I want, whenever I want no matter the file size.

Hmmm dpham00 I didnt have nearly the trouble you are had with the 6s+. My experience has been quite the opposite. If it wasn't for the camera, camera roll/gallery and a few minor annoyances I wouldn't consider coming back to Android. The 6S+ has been that good.

iphone's gallery is an OCD person's worst nightmare. each and every photo, no matter if its a screenshot or a forward good morning flower photo gets saved in the gallery and in turn gets saved in the cloud. over time my icloud photos looked like a chat forwarder's wet dream with thousands of 'good morning' photos and its ilk. why would apple allow a screenshot or whatsapp/IMs forward photos and videos be saved in the camera roll is beyond me.

there is a tool available which you can use to extract your whatsapp backup from the local backup and then restore to an android phone but i believe its more of a fault of whatsapp for not allowing us to do this the easy way. if only they allowed us to save our backup on a 3rd party cloud service like dropbox and make it readable cross platform.

I switched from iphone 6plus to s7 edge . Been using iphone after leaving my sony flip phone . S7 edge completely another level from iphone . Screen is most important part .
The main problem is migrating all my stuff to android . Imessages factym . Thats it.
Stand by on my s7 edge is soo good i would sleep with 100% and wakeup with 97% .
IMHO just the screen is worth the price . Its a huge upgrade from iphone 6plus .
Never had a lag and ntg annoying.
Peace

Did you manage to restore your WhatsApp backup on the S7 edge?

I'm still debating on ditching my 6s Plus for it. My iPhone is so smooth and battery is insane and I'll miss iMessage and lightning fast updates. But iOS is so old and stale. It's the same thing it was 4 years ago. And this phone is bulky and heavy.

Im going from a 128GB s6 edge to the s7 edge because of the battery. I love my S6 edge, but I need to make it through a day of heavy use.

Come back over to Android. Loved my 6s+ as well, but the S7 Edge is a total different beast. I'm only having issues with idle battery drain and my phone will not go into deep sleep. I plan to call Verizon to get a replacement today. But other than that. This phone is top notch.

That's really good to hear coming from you. I know you were a little skeptical of leaving your iPhone. Like I have been. So to hear you say to just do it is pretty convincing. And you had your iPhone longer than me.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I had my iphone for over a year. It was my first iphone. I can deal with the small nuances of Android. But what I can't deal with is my massive battery drain. But other than that, again S7 Edge is better than the current iphone.

Yeah. If you can get that battery under control you'd be golden, it sounds. And it seems like some people are getting really solid battery life without shutting everything off. So maybe you just got a bum phone. Good to hear everything else is better on the S7 edge.

Switched from my iPhone 6 5 days ago. Love the s7E screen. I dabble with both ios and android. Its fun to switch it up from time to time. Rocking a Bodyguardz case and curved screen protector.
