Why am I getting push notifications all of a sudden for TV shows?

Google has started informing me about Blindspot episodes. Now, my mother watches the show, but we don't share Google accounts, and my Smart TV is a Samsung product, so Google shouldn't have any idea what we're watching. I never gave Google any consent to know what we're watching and monitoring that is an invasion of privacy worthy of calling a lawyer. I want to know WHY I have been getting these push notifications on my phone telling me about this stupid show. How do they know? How can I tell them to stop? I don't know how they're doing this, but it needs to stop.

Have you ever done a Google search for that show? I've done Google searches for shows my mother watches, and I've gotten alerts stating when the next episodes of those particular shows are airing.

I never did a manual search but when it first showed up, I clicked it to see if I could tell it to stop sending me those. I just want it to stop. Are there any privacy options that will let me shut off those kinds of things?

Yes. Tap on the 3 dots in the upper right corner of the notification. Then tap on never show episode reminders.
